Lol songbird isn't innocent, she literally lies and tricks you the entire time, misleads you into going on a literal whole mission, risking your life for a small hope of living, and then she takes it away and uses It for herself, she would of never met reed without doing what she did as a net runner, which endangered the lives of all her friends with no regard for them. She agreed to go because of a consequence of her own actions, then she has you help her murder an entire stadium of innocent vendors, including children like Tommie who was helping his dad sell clothes. Then she reveals she tricked you expects you to let her live, and leaves you to die after wasting weeks/months of the short time you have left, if you betray songbird she STILL kills hella people by going cyberpsycho, gets Alex killed, before she did that reed 1000% would of helped her and most likely helped her escape, again if you betray her she still lied and led you on, and at the end she selfishly wants you to become a literal ENEMY of the NUSA and give up your chance to live by killing her, if you dont both your lives get saved and reed keeps close tabs on her and literallly offers v a shot at a normal life since he cant be a merc anymore. The "good" ending where you save Song felt so underdeveloped storywise compared to if you had sided with Reed. I think my preferred ending is when Song dies, Reed rethinks his whole life and ideals, Myers lost, V won't get the cure and Alex dies. No one wins in this game. Personally, based on how I experienced the story. I see Reed as a respectable, loyal and stubborn man who will abide by his promise. But that doesn't mean he couldn't lie to himself. Song on the other hand was quite manipulative and a really damn fine liar. Since the beginning, she has been kind to you and shares so much to you at such a fast rate that it feels... off to me. After I knew that she was the one behind the plane crash, I looked back at how she lied to our faces and how convincing her lie was. That's why I couldn't trust her. Also, she is a very selfish person who would do anything to save her own life. She is far less respectable than Reed but she is more understandable

I do understand Songbird, her alternatives were worse than death itself. She was boxed in, she could not trust anyone because everyone sees her as a tool and the only one person that she trusts, Reed, was a broken and loyal lapdog of Myers who absued both for her own end goals. Her actions were not just and you see that she wrestled with her choices throughout the game. If she was really that bad, she would not have told you the truth in the train. Right at the end, she knew what she was saying and gave you the choice over her fate. Girl did not even want to kill Myers and thought she could trust a monster like Hansen. She is too pure for this cruel world and just shows that being honest... does not pay off in Night City. Imo this is the best end. You free Reed from the prison that he is in, save Songbird (probably) and save yourself from a worse fate and most of all, you stick true to your own ideals and make sure that you do not become another Reed.

I made the decision to side with Songbird the moment Reed and Alex just shot those two french siblings in cold blood even when they were unconscious. That was too fucked up. Reed did not seem like the good guy to me anymore. He also confirmed it at the end when he was willing to kill V in order to give Song in to the FIA instead of trying to save her together. At the end, So Mi fully opened to V and said she does not want to die, unlike Reed who was willing to die in order to give her in to the FIA. Reed had a choice, So Mi didn't. She reached out to V from the very beginning because she needed help and I felt V had to keep his promise. She was the better person and deserved to live more than Reed. For me, this was the most satisfying ending.
@ShinForgotPassxXx Жыл бұрын
Right at the end it shows how far Reed has strayed from his ideals when he sees killing innocent civilians as just part of his duty. You can see that it is killing him inside bit by bit. He is just another too pure of a person and that is why he can be easily controlled by Myers. I am willing to make an argument that Reed WANTED V to kill him. He is a vet, a top of the line killer with the best implants and skills of the business but he constantly turns his back to you while you have a gun. He could have gone for a boss fight but instead just went for a slow wild west gun draw. I believe that he subconsciously wants someone to put him down because he could never escape this circle and he cannot forgive himself for what he has done and will continue to do.

@@jakub_paints6775 I believe it was the right decision. Reed had a choice and he chose to side with the FIA, accepting the consequences of it. Songbird had no freedom of choice, others wanted to do it for her. She would die either way (physically or mentally) because of others, which would make it even more tragic. She went through hell in the FIA. So Mi just wanted to escape it all and finally get to live. We don't know for sure if sending her to the Moon actually did help her in the end, but it was her wish and I choose to believe she is well and free now. V has nothing on his conscience either, he did best he could for both Reed and So Mi.

Regarding Reed & Alex. Yes, the way the French siblings were executed was shocking - I knew then they were both rotten to the core. But when Songbird revealed her lie, I realised she was just out for herself from the very beginning and wasn't that much differrent to the others - happy to put a complete stranger in harms way. Think about it: Why is her life more important than my own, or the hundreds of others that were squashed on the way to the shuttle? I turned her over and cut a deal. Harsh lessons in this game. With that said, I have not played further than that... It will be interesting to see what happens next. Is Songbird saved to stand trial I wonder? It would be interesting to have a side-quest related to that in the future.

@@dra911 yeah, So Mi did seem selfish for how far she went to keep herself alive but at the same time it is an identical parallel with V, especially if you choose the Corpo lifepath. Then you can understand where she comes from. Just to survive, V was very willing to level anything that came in front of him, from beginning to end. Risking the lives of those around him just to make sure he lives. So Mi has the same mentality. In this sense I think it basically kind of came to the conclusion that as V, it is as if youre looking in a mirror when you see So Mi, so you become the bigger person and send her to the moon.

Honestly, the Reed/Songbird choice is, for me, probably the hardest choice in any RPG I’ve ever played (and I’ve played a lot). On the one hand, Reed is absolutely and dogmatically beholden to a corrupt government and is a ruthless killer, even though he genuinely want to help Songbird, and despite being the master spy, he is probably one of the most honest characters in the setting. On the other hand you have Songbird, who constantly manipulated you, is a walking WMD, and doesn’t really care who will die if it means she survives, but is only doing this because she was never given a choice other than serve or die, and do you really want someone like Meyers controlling her? And in the middle of this you have V, promised a chance at survival by both parties. Damn, even Johnny admits he has a hard time choosing who to side with, despite being staunchly anti-NUSA. What a well written choice, there’s real-time good one here.

from how I see it. the three of em - myers, so mi, reed, they all manipulated V for self gain. Myers acted like some sort of saint during the start of PL, but then shows her true colors later on. All of her lies were just so you would bring her So Mi, since shes her valuable weapon. Reed wanted "OUT" of his sleeper state, and the way he thought of leaving it is by pleasing his Owner(Myers) like the dog he is. All that crap Reed says about saving So Mi and just simply letting her face the consequences of her actions in a fair trial? They were full blown lies, Reed knew that if So Mi was caught, shed be scrapped and weaponized, which was basically killing her and playing puppet with her brain. So Mi lied to V, about the plane crash, about the cure being 100% effective when in truth it was still in its proto stages, and about it being available for both her and V. So Mi lied and manipulated V throughout the entire game just so she could finally gain the freedom shes always longed for. Basically: Myers lied so she could keep her weapon of mass destruction, a weapon that could touch the destructive power of the blackwall. Reed lied so he could get back to who he was, a dignified and glorified spy for the NUSA. So Mi lied so she could earn her freedom. They were all soooooooo incredibly selfish, if I had the choice to just f off and leave them all to their lying whims. I would've done so, but I couldn't so instead I chose to help So Mi, simply because she's the only one to confess about her manipulation - 34:58 .

People are willingly singing their future away in the hopes they will be able to beat death. On top of the engram being manipulated whoever the owners want, the people pay Eddie’s for that privilege. I did save her and exported her to the FIA she should not get off easy for all the Pain she could do in the Future. She seems like the one who only cares about her own well being.

I gave songbird to reed after she told me about matrix, i wanted to live for panam and aldecados. Also whatever shit reed done at least he didnt betray me, i kinda needed a person that i could trust. Previously he got "killed" for his team. There are no good/bad characters. Also reed said that songbird would be a chess player that has brilliant moves and despite that tragic losses, as a chess player myself that got me 😅

What happens to Alex if you help Songbird escapes, but then give her to reed at the spaceport? I know she lives but does she contact you afterwards like Reeds does? Just seems like she disappeared 😕

Man this dlc is really tough, it plays with your feelings and perspective, theres no really the good or bad or perfect ending, everything imo is dependent on your own perspective. On ny first playthrough, i chose to betray somi as i have mixed feelings about her and reed keep his priorities straight eventhough sometimes its very unexpected imo, then i kill songbird at the end knowing all about her memories and suffering its best if she free from all of those after all thats what she asked for right? I respect her and imo it comes a good perspective for me, saving song mi means you let her be used again by myers and NUSA, killing song mi, in the end reed finally realized and said "i have nothing to lose" well he can finally start a peaceful life. Finally looking at all the endings, i really think theres no ideal or best ending. It really comes down to your perspective and what choices you have to make for the sake of these guys.

I was quite unsure which way I'd go. But I just couldn't betray So Mi. But when that phone call from Reed came, I was like shit I'm going all the way, fuck NUSA.

They way I see it is that Phantom Liberty isn't your story (V), its Songbirds. You two are the same people, with the same goals. Hence why she reached out, she is desperate and had no friends. Her story ends with your help or lack thereof, either free to the Moon or becoming brain in a jar. Yours end with the help of your friends in Arasaka tower. And from my POV even with all the lies and manipulation; that caged bird should go free and get one more chance in life.
@MrTrancelator Жыл бұрын
Put her on the Moonrocket. You know why? First, because she told me the truth: she could have kept it hidden from V, but she took the risk and told me that the cure was single use. She put her life in my hands. Do you know how crazy it is? Sure, she could have told me sooner, but can you blame her for having serious trust issues when her whole life consisted of "who will exploit me next" episodes. Second, she reminded me of a certain Lucy Kushinada from "Edgerunners." Doing the same was... poetically resonant. I did not take her to the Moon, but, in a way, I was there with her. Like David, V stayed behind to become a legend. And Johnny was finally not sneering at my decision.

Hey! If you ever make a video about Easter eggs in Phantom Liberty, I'm playing it now, and when you get to Dogtown, on your way to the crash site you hear someone speaking polish. If you go there it's Michal Kincinski and Marcin Iwinski, and if you don't know who they are I'm not your friend anymore :)

So Mi may have played V, but Sol is responsible for the deaths of everyone that I like in Dogtown. Also he's a Fed so by default is worse.

If you give up Songbird, do we ever find out if she is saved by Reed and the NUSA scientists to stand trial? There could be a side mission to get her out of a prison sentence or (presumably) a death sentence!

I felt like its the right thing to do to help free her and help her escape to the moon because if she were to go back with reed she would ended up being a slave to the government again and they are clearly bad guys, you can tell it from how Myers acts that she is not a good person and only wants to advance her own agendas and so even if i have to end up killing Reed i will always chose to help So Mi. Also the alternative mission is scary as shit and no way im doing that again more than once lol

Is it just my impression or Song and Reed relationship is a skewed version of Ciri and Geralt? A gifted child everyone fights for and wants to use, and her mentor. Reed fails though because the system was skewed and unfair from the start. What is left is selling Ciri to the Emperor for the sake of principles.

I think sending So Mi to the Moon, even after she betrays you, and even if she's stepping woefully underprepared into Blue Eyes' world, is still the best outcome. I'll be damned if I'm sell my soul to Arasaka for a "cure", why should I sell So Mi's to the NUSA and Militech for a two year coma and a guaranteed visit from the feds when they'll inevitably need more "assets" for whatever project they're cooking up. So Mi gets to now live with the consequences she's brought upon herself, hopefully she can use that experience to not make the same mistake with Blue Eyes' plot. The idea of putting So Mi down in the Reed ending as a "Greater Good" is also too _corp_ sounding of an idea for me to get behind, I'd rather fight for some small amounts of tangible good than try to make myself above it all for a "greater good."

The FIA Clinic is way better than Arasaka on the moon. The FIA war able to safe my life, but the devil ending on the moon was not able. By the way: The FIA Clinic mirrored a part of my past, so I was really shocked during playing when happened what happened..

I tried 7 different times to kill Reed and in each option he always killed me, I was crying so hard but I had to give So Mi away. I was so pissed to learn you could actually pull the trigger and help So Mi. That's what I wanted to do all along. There should be a side note though, it may seem like you're helping So Mi but you're potentially letting her face a far worse outcome. The game hints that Blue Eyes is the one that bought So Mi's ticket and he's the one that's going to "experiment" on her. So it may seem like she's free whereas she also may not. Still though, I'd hate to give her to the FIA for them to use her as a guinea pig for god knows how long. There were 2 crucial moments that led me to side with So Mi, the first one is Reed's mystery stubbornness to both staying loyal to the FIA and trying to help So Mi at the same time. I decided that he might only want to help So Mi for himself, for feeling guilty and nothing else. He really is a mysterious and well-written character. The second moment was when Reed and Alex killed the two twins for basically nothing. I was soo shocked and speechless. I know the twins were criminals as well but they really didn't need to kill them. It gave me strange vibes and made me think that Reed is just addicted to his "mission". For the record, I was sceptical and distant with So Mi throughout the whole game and even Misty hints that I should stay away or not trust the person I meet right next to the person of a certain tarot card (I don't remember what was called but it was at the beginning of the game where you meet with So Mi) so against all odds, I decided I want to help her and by the time I learned that she lied to me this whole time, I was already crying so hard and was just focused on saving her no matter what. Overall, this expansion was truly incredible and CDPR really showed what they're capable of.

why are the rest of cyberpunk netrunners so bad compared to V?, he literally reintegrated an AI demigod (delamain) from his multiple parts and created the perfect AI (delamain dad) while so mi is supposed to be the best netrunner but yet don't know how to do it.

I just revisited this DLC and for sure this ending maybe the best ending. Look hear me out first of all Alex didn't die which the other ending is Second this ending unlock the DLC ending for main Quest which was also best ending for main quest too Third you'll have more info for the NSU just like NC Corp one But if you prefer the Character arc/past/info choose the other one And last i like action shooting and SIMP so yeah :D

Saving Song So Mi is the right choice, Reed isn't going to save So Mi, he's going to give her to Rosalind Myers a War Criminal and to Myers, Song is a thing, a possession a weapon of mass destruction. If you dont seperate Song from The NUSA, they'll kickstart a technological darkage! NUSA would have her poke at the Blackwall till the Blackwall breaks and the Wild AIs in the original Net are released at which point anyone & anything connected to the net will be instantly dead... talking millions and the end of everything in the world!
