Lol, had my guitar lesson and my teacher said that the lead singer took guitar lessons at our place and then jumped ship after he learned all his major and minor chords and then just started to write songs and started vampire weekend, these guys are great
@smelltheglove2038 Жыл бұрын
I mean, let’s be honest, once you learn the chord shapes everything else just comes naturally. Well, I guess that depends on how much music you listen to and if you have any sort of inherent musical talent. You have to listen to lots of music to be a good musician, imo. A friend of mine has been playing guitar for well over a decade but still cannot jam with others, or improvise a solo. Still cannot play in the proper key. Some people just don’t have it.

It’s really hard to make simple sounding music , that’s good and original anyway
@Casey3-P-O Жыл бұрын
Simplicity. This song is just based off of simple harmony. 3rd intervals. They hang on one chord from the ending of the first verse and it takes you to the next section very naturally. They have great lyrics. I'm guessing at least 1 or 2 of them know a bit of music theory. Sometimes people are really good at taking simple things, like basic harmony for instance, and using it in really original, yet classical ways. They're just smart, basically. But they don't do too much. The best things are simple. Even a lot of things that seem complicated are very simple when you break them down to their parts.

This is so brilliant. It brings up the excellent point that small errors, such as grammatical errors, in properly conveying an idea are quite insignificant, and begs the question as to (if this is idea is understood) why the one critiquing cares about the error anyways? The song is most likely implying that critiquing is used to feel above or better than the person who made the error, even though they made an excellent point. Amazing real-world application in these lyrics, and a very musically sound structure! I cannot get enough!

We had Saturday Night Live on in March, lightly paying attention to the sketches as we’d head out onto the deck to smoke and chat. But as I came back from the bathroom I heard M79 coming from the TV and was stopped in my tracks because whatever I expected from this band... it sure as hell wasn’t supposed to sound as fresh as this. 2:54 "Why would you lie about anythin' at all?" sung so lovingly, like there is no need at all to hide in perfect love, but the lyrics are clear: this is "oh, I see you are a pathological liar."

I do feel the "you" -- the other, the lover-- reminds me of what's known as borderline personality disorder, "first the window, then it's through the wall," all those signs someone's got some rage but if you will notice they choose their targets, bloodying only the furniture. My heart does go out to all them those poor oppressed failed angels, may they find relief.

grammar and wes anderson-ish vibes in one video? how lovely
lyrics: Who gives a fuck about an Oxford comma? I've seen those English dramas, too They're cruel So if there's any other way To spell the word, it's fine with me With me Why would you speak to me that way? Especially when I always said that I Haven't got the words for you All your diction, dripping with disdain Through the pain, I always tell the truth Who gives a fuck about an Oxford Comma? I climbed to Dharamsala, too I did I met the highest Lama His accent sounded fine to me To me Check your handbook, it's no trick Take the chapstick, put it on your lips Crack a smile, adjust my tie Know your boyfriend, unlike other guys Why would you lie about how much coal you have? Why would you lie about something dumb like that? Why would you lie about anything at all? First the window, then it's to the wall Little John, he always tells the truth Check your passport, it's no trick Take the Chapstick, put it on your lips Crack a smile, adjust my tie Know your butler, unlike other guys Why would you lie about how much coal you have? Why would you lie about something dumb like that? Why would you lie about anything at all? First the window, then it's through the wall Why would you tape my conversations? Show your paintings At the United Nations Little John, he always tells the truth
