Hi there! Just tracked down your channel to say hello (I was the white VW two pitches up at Combs last weekend 😁). Looks like it was the same campsite we talked about at Edale. Used to be called Coopers, but it looks like they've improved it quite a bit. I don't recall there being any hardstanding last time we were there, but it was a good few years ago! All the best and catch you soon👍

Hi Des, yes I do remember you. The hardstandings are very small and suitable for a small mobile home. The only downside is that there is no mobile signal, data and the site wifi is quite poor. I can see that this would be a great site for a weekend being off grid though. The showers were really good and the location right next to the Pub was too, not to mention the access to the start of the Pennine Way.

@@whereveraway It looks as though the shower block has really been upgraded, it used to be very primitive! 😁

Another interesting video Gary.You are certainly getting full use out of your Eriba.Our little Pan Duo hasn't moved for over two years except on the drive but we are hoping to start using her early this year.Derbyshire is my home county and I sometimes forget how beautiful it is - even in winter.We always enjoy your trips with the van.👍

Hi Heyden, we love Derbyshire over the Lake District. 2 years is a long time to have so much enjoyment sitting on the driveway. I think you will get the bug again. Can't beat a nice cold frosty morning in the Eriba, with a decent breakfast and a nice walk. Happy New Year!!!

@@whereveraway The lack of use was mainly out of our control Gary.Just one of those periods when every thing was going "mammary glands" up! Not so bad now. Happy New Year.

Hey Great to see you guys again! Didn't think it be before April tbh. Lovely to see Will Learning as he goes along, from Connecting the Caravan, to cooking a nice meal and even collecting the water! What a Star! I Hope Santa was very Generous!! (Make the most of the next few years with him, as im guessing University is probably only 3 years away!) Just a point, i find its better to carry the weight in the car (Economy and Stability ) rather than pull it behind you, just what I've found, although each to their own! Best wishes to you all, and hope to see you all again in the New Year!

Hi Michael, we are all year round campers. I've said to William once he turns 18 he is welcome to take the Eriba for his holidays. At first, I may tow it for him, leave him there then tow it back for him. He may have a girlfriend by then and want a nice weekend away with her. We do carry the heavy Thule residence in the car, everything else is just quite light, such as bedding, camping chairs and a light weight table. Best wishes for the New Year too.

@@whereveraway glad your a modern parent But what18 yo William will do, is wait till you n the Mrs go away in the Eriba and then have the girls round at the house all weekend! But you knew that anyway as that's what we would of done! Best wishes to all three of you!!

I notice that you didn’t check the lights on the Eriba. I was always taught that before every journey all lights on the caravan should be checked that everything is working as it should.
@whereveraway Жыл бұрын
Hi There, when we film, we show the towing away, then we stop once level and straight, align the mirrors and do a lights check off film. Good point though. We noticed a number plate light out on that day.

Another great blog Garry, thanks. So are you not able to book the electric pitches generally with a caravan there?
@whereveraway Жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, I’m not sure and next time I will just call the site. The pitches with EHU are not the best and are not level. If you are going for just 2 days then you should be okay running off leisure battery and if it’s cold take good blankets to avoid having to use the gas for heating. During summer it’s a great site for off grid with use of the solar panels. You won’t need to use the car at all due to the proximity to everything.

Is the Eriba warm in the winter ?
@whereveraway Жыл бұрын
Hi Jas, yes the Eriba is insulated and warm. You do have the option of pulling the roof down, however we have not found the need to do that. We have the electric fire for use when connected to site electric and gas for off grid. We put the electric fire on low all night, as the Eriba is just a small space. Also, if you do not have electric fire, many people buy a small oil filled radiator.

So, have you never felt the need for an insulated pop-top collar?
