The same day I adopted my cat as a six month old kitten, my best friend's mom (who my friend and I lived with at the time) went looking at the dogs. The second she saw a beagle, she said "Guys, there's a beagle! I'm getting her!" Her name was Penny. She was older when we adopted her, and she was like a second mama to the dog they already had. She passed away a handful of years ago, but I'll always remember her. She came in as a stray to the shelter so they didn't know her birthday, so I decided her birthday would be her adoption day, October 17th. Miss you, Penny. I hope you love on your baby Penny!
