The secret for a smooth ride on Chinese high speed train is 1) most parts of the lines are straight. They use thousands of bridges and tunnels to make the lines as straight as possible. 2) the track jointing method is extremely high tech. The joints have only 3mm variation. That means if you touch the joint, you can't even feel it. 3) to ensure the tracks are not expanded or contracted due to temperature variation, the tracks are clamp down once every half meter. ONCE EVERY HALF METER! Imagine how many clamps are used.

You can lie down and take a nap comfortably during the journey.
