28F just diagnosed 6 months ago One thing I noticed, even from this video is that at the beginning you are obviously trying really hard to not fidget and remain really professional and rigid, but after about 10 minutes you start to fidget more and allow yourself to go off track a little bit. I think this is such a perfect example of ADHD

I related to so much of this video. I’m just trying stimulant medication for the first time and I didn’t know how to describe the difference but you did it perfectly. it is like, usually I just think “i need to do the dishes” but then i move on. With medication I think the same thing and then I just DO IT. it’s crazy, I can’t believe this is just how people live. I’m glad that I’m not the only one, when I try to explain to others I don’t think they really understand what I mean. Thank you 🤍

Your videos inspired me to get checked for adhd 2 years ago. Life changing I am taking stratera. Have you gain any weighg from depression or anxiety medications? I am afraid to try.
@rachelanita Жыл бұрын
I'm so glad, and it's great that Strattera is working for you. Honestly, I was so desperate to get my depression and anxiety under control that I didn't care about the weight gain. If you gain weight, you can lose it in a few months -- once you're happy, mentally healthy, and anxiety-free. This is the way I thought about it, and it's the way it worked best. Don't let weight gain stop you from getting your mental health back. You can always get your weight back under control when you're happy.

What happened to your joint pain and brain fog? Did it resolve once you felt less stress on meds? Thank you for sharing 🙏
@rachelanita2 ай бұрын
It’s not resolved but definitely reduced when I’m on my meds!! That was an unexpected but awesome side effect

@rachelanita2 ай бұрын

Did you continue taking anti depressant meds with your ADHD meds? Your story is similar to mine. However I'm unsure if taking only ADHD meds would help me.
@rachelanita3 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes I've continued to take antidepressants with my ADHD meds -- they treat different things so I definitely wasn't going to get rid of them. I have recently stopped taking my anxiety meds, though (worked w/ a psychiatrist to taper off!)

@@rachelanita Hi, thanks for the reply. In your video you mentioned that you had trouble speaking. You said that you were always quiet and you didn't talk much. I'm like that as well and I've been quiet since I was little. I think it might be Selective Mutism. It can get hard for me to speak in social settings. It feels like my brain freezes and I cant talk. I'm wondering if ADHD meds would help me with this? Did you find the ADHD meds helped you open up and made you speak more? Thanks!

One of your past videos really encouraged me to get a diagnosis. ❤ Thanks for sharing your journey! It must be so difficult to tell people about the alcoholism and childhood trauma as well. I hope you’ll become even more confident and accepting of yourself! 💪 You were playing life on hard mode but you kept playing & pursuing answers and healthier coping mechanisms. That’s very inspiring! No shame about having a rough start. 🫂

Hi! I somehow missed this comment, thank you for sharing! I’ve been in a bit of a slump with posting, struggling to gain the motivation (haha) but reading comments like this helps me to want to keep posting so I can keep helping others! I hope you’re doing ok

@ Thank you so much for the sweet reply! I think it’s best to follow your gut and post from inspiration rather than forcing yourself. I’d be happy to see more updates from you but you’ve already had such a positive effect on my journey so no pressure. I hope everything goes well for you and your life keeps getting better and better. Even just surviving and getting to work on building up your confidence and having more fun in the future is already a huge win! We’re here to learn and grow and feel everything. Even the dark times. ❤️ I’m so proud of you and everyone else who’s made it through. We can continue to find meaning in growth every day! We just gotta pick our battles and show up authentically whenever we can without overwhelm. Thank you for everything you’ve shared and might share of yourself in the future.

I'm glad meds worked for you, but I also hope you can accept yourself and not see yourself as "abnormal". Adhd is part of you as a person, is what I've found. And that's ok.
