it's really rough D: honestly the best thing to do is set aside time tor rest before and after a trip - i also definitely take things slow or sleep in while im on the trip if i feel like it'll help me through the rest of the days... i will also go home early if people are staying out too late sometiems

You have just described my life and exactly how I have felt all my adult life, the chronic fatigue, being constantly diagnosed and given meds for depression and anxiety. I was also diagnosed with ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome but no other help offered. I have had frequent burnout and had so much time off work sick or had to leave jobs due to always being depressed, anxious and burnt-out. I was finally diagnose with Inattentive ADHD last Dec 2023 at the age of 54... I'm still really struggling with my energy despite being on Methylphenidate. I'm awaiting an appointment with my Psychiatrist to look at trying other medications. I struggle to keep up with friendships and like you have always been known as 'Donna who needs to take frequent naps during the day', or am unreliable or always late. I have not had a boyfriend for so long as I struggle with the energy required to sustain a 'normal' relationship. My home is constantly chaotic, I can never seem to keep it tidy and organised which is how I like it best. Thank-you for sharing. I shall follow your page.

Did you continue taking anti depressant meds with your ADHD meds? Your story is similar to mine. However I'm unsure if taking only ADHD meds would help me.
@rachelanita2 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes I've continued to take antidepressants with my ADHD meds -- they treat different things so I definitely wasn't going to get rid of them. I have recently stopped taking my anxiety meds, though (worked w/ a psychiatrist to taper off!)

@@rachelanita Hi, thanks for the reply. In your video you mentioned that you had trouble speaking. You said that you were always quiet and you didn't talk much. I'm like that as well and I've been quiet since I was little. I think it might be Selective Mutism. It can get hard for me to speak in social settings. It feels like my brain freezes and I cant talk. I'm wondering if ADHD meds would help me with this? Did you find the ADHD meds helped you open up and made you speak more? Thanks!

26 isnt that later to be diagnosed as a female. Many women are being diagnosed well into middle age. I was diagnosed at 35. My psychologist is in her late 60's and is only just now suspecting she has ADHD. I think the age of diagnosis age will start coming down age time goes on because we are starting to understand how different ADHD presents in females vs males. Glad you got your diagnosis. It's a struggle not kmowing whats going on or thinking there's "something wrong". 😊

Hi Rachel! I was curious, do you feel like magic mind helps with preventing the crash from the adhd meds? I’ve taken them my whole life but now that I’m in my 30’s once the crash comes I feel like I can barely move the rest of the day.
@Raccoon4Peas5 ай бұрын
If you have any tips to ease the crash please let me know ❤
@rachelanita5 ай бұрын
Hey, what med do you take? Is it long-acting or short-acting? I find that Magic Mind does give me an extra boost. If I'm feeling funky after taking my meds still/fatigued, I will take it and it usually helps. I'll usually have one around 3 or if I have plans at night and don't want to take a full pill and I feel fatigued, I'll drink a magic mind. When I was taking short-acting meds (Ritalin vs. Concerta), Ifound I had to take my second dose of ritalin about 2 hours after the 1st one to avoid the crash, I also would usually take a tylenol and/or a magic mind. Definitely talk to your doctor about the crash!

....making a doctors appointment after this video!!! Fucked up my whole career path because of lack of focus, had figure problems all my life because I'm too "lazy" and lack discipline to go to the gym, now my marriage is going downhill because my husband tells me I never listen, he thinks I'm lazy because the house is always a mess because I just can't get my fatigue sorted, I wriggle myself through the day and feel like I'm almost dying because I got babytwins and am so tired.. In work i drift off and have to read emails 5 times because I can't focus. My social life is pretty much non existant because when someone talks to me I start daydreaming. To focus on what they actually talk is very draining to me 😥

Thanks for sharing this with me... I really feel you on so many of the things you've struggled with - I hope your husband is able to come around and realize we have a real medical issue! my most recent ADHD video goes in a bit more on the medical aspects of ADHD - so it's pretty interesting. Were you ever able to get that appointment?
