The scattered pottery sherds, flooring/roofing debris look amazing and I wondered whether you’ve ever researched your permissions using LIDAR? The National Library of Scotland maps, which is free to use has a feature where you can compare maps side by side and also switch into the LIDAR image too. It’s pretty straightforward to use as you just type in the name of the place, you’re interested in looking at - it covers the whole of the UK. I definitely think the LIDAR image will help you hone in on certain spots. Thanks for uploading a good video!

Thanks anthonywestwood8489 Yes I’ve been using side by side for years and it’s a great tool for research. The problem with this particular field is it’s highly farmed so not a lot shows up on the LiDAR.. my best resource I’ve found is google earth pro and going back in time to spot the cropmarks that pop up and this method does show up on this field. Also I’ve found the best method for spotting roman sites is fieldwalking, finds then look for fields with plateaus which gradually fall down and are south facing, also a water course nearby is a must.. then look at local roads, names and piece it altogether and you can build a picture of what was going on, that’s have the fun for me, I can sit for hours trawling through maps and building roads to and from places. I’ve just noticed archi have updated thier LiDAR so I might take another look at it.. Glad you enjoyed the video😊 Good luck in the field👍

@@DIRTBROSDETECTING I should have realised you’d probably be using many different research techniques already, judging by how methodical your tutorial videos are presented! Perhaps you could do a tutorial on research techniques, as I think lots of peeps would appreciate such a video? I know I’d certainly appreciate an in-depth site research tutorial from an experienced detectorist such as yourself.

Fantastic video chap! You explain it very well. Would your CP9 work on V2.0 and on a Roman pasture field? Thanks
@DIRTBROSDETECTING2 ай бұрын
Thanks@@andrewtyers451 yes it will work on V2.0, and yes it loves pasture but if your in heavy iron you can copy the settings over to general, lower sensitivity and run reactivity 2.5/3. I’ve found sens ft will separate better than general so keep that in mind. The CP9 program does favour cleaner ground like a lot of my fields have, even my Roman sites are pretty easy going. Happy hunting 👍

nice finds is this your own version of tekkna program?
@DIRTBROSDETECTINGАй бұрын
Thanks@@swiftdetecting no I’ve used the CP9 program from release day of the Deus 2. I wanted a full tones program that’s punchy and covers most detecting scenarios after enjoying the Deus 1 hot program. My program is very different to Gary’s. Thanks and good luck😊

@@DIRTBROSDETECTING do u have the puck and video on how put in to that and do u know how many custom u can add in one slot on the puck? as be interesting to see how yours is the the one i mentioned
@DIRTBROSDETECTINGАй бұрын
@ I’ll look into a video which covers inputting the settings into the ws6👍 On the puck you can only save one extra program on top of the preset programs, so a maximum of 12 custom programs

On ploughed field what do you prefer the cp9 or the legacy program
@DIRTBROSDETECTING4 ай бұрын
Hi @@DMDC- I tend to always end up on my own programs due to my fields being fairly clean, I very rarely come above 1.5 reactivity unless it’s start to get busy. The CP9 program is based off program 3 which has the older iron filters so it’s a bit more aggressive which I like and will let some iron through as well, so basically I rarely come off cp9 as I like a good comprimise of depth and speed, the deus 2 is a quick machine so I do t feel like I miss much. I am working on a 5 town program though which will be a hard hitter. Thanks😊👍
