I went to a Weekend Wanderers dig at Winnall today and used my Nox 800 for a few hours . It was very unstable and i was told that others had the same problem. No matter what we did it could not be sorted by the people that had this issue. At around 2.30pm i got my Deus 11 and set up a program using General setting with a few changes . I walked up to the top of the hill and started searching . My first target and only was a Cut Half Alexander Silver Hammy . The Deus 11 unlike the Nox's was totally stable. I am real happy i bought this machine and cant wait for my second to turn up. Its the best machine thats come out for years . I think since the E.Trac. But then i would say that wouldn't i Gary !

You must have some Red Indian genes in there somewhere Gary....you heard them choppers from miles away!hehe Yet another really informative video. I'm thoroughly enjoying the D2 over here in Essex, and am so pleased I made the leap. Solid 87's have always been good coins for me so far, and 30's are foily finds....but have found silver at 47. Like you, if it's a stable signal and decent tone, it tends to be good.....if jumpy the results tend to be less so. Thanks again, all the best Marcus

Hi Gary thanks for your informative videos I have had my Deus 2 now for one week and I am enjoying it very much I was wondering if you could help me with some settings? I would like to change the tones for the higher numbers I’ve found the numbers from around 70 and higher give the same tones I would like to change the tones from 80 up I hope you can shed some light on this for me thanks Tony
@Genegenedtb2 жыл бұрын
Tony... what tone settings are you using? If in multi tones ( 2 or 3 etc) you can change the TID sounds higher or lower. Tones, lets say 3 tones, expert, and you will see the tone breaks. 1st tone is what is being discriminated. 2nd tone is a mid tone but when you scroll to the 2nd tone you can use the + or - to raise or lower it. especially on that 3rd tone, you can adjust it much higher. good luck

Great vid i have been using the deus 2 on the beach with beach sence really enjoying it one thing that made me realise with the deus 2 is dont depend on the numbers as i was getting 08 but good tone with iron tone thought go for it dug it out and from that hole several dug out 5 coins modern went back few day later and i had left 3 or 4 coin around it again not solid number just 08 with good tone mix iron oh and a quick flash of high 80,s made sure there was none left

Thanks Gary very informative…looking forward to getting my Deus 2 I’m on back order as well as everyone in the UK..jus a quick question what’s the machine like on real deep good targets does the sound fade or break up or just give iron sound..sorry to ask such a dumb question but I use the Nox and I find real deep stuff gets sketchy but I do find some good stuff digging dodgy signals on the limits. Does the Deus have a depth gauge. Thanks for the info so far..you’ve already got me into dousing. I’m Loving it..Regards Jim

i search for coins in areas that have bin fought over during ww2. its so nice to just put in the spade every time without having to worry about not blowing yourself up. quick warning to ppl that metal detect in the same places: DO NOT, EVER, put ur spade in the ground without having checked for a signal with a pin pointer if you do not know what you are doing. so: you find a signal, check with pinpointer, (not the pinpoint function on the detector, but a short range pinpointer) when there is no signal, dig a bit, then check again. if there is a signal dig very carefully with a small shovel and as soon as you are confident its not something that can blow your head off you can dig normally. quick sidenote: yesterday I was to confident and I put my spade in a 3 inch Brittish mortar shell right next to the fuze. sorry if I sound like a hysterical person but i just dont want any new diggers to start of their metal detecting career without their legs.

Me, I live in California, and I made my own program. Everything quiet, except 61-63, and 91-99. Those numbers sound out loud and clear. 61-63= 5 cents, and 91-99 = copper pennies, ten cents, and 25 cents, and of course silver coins. There are smaller silver coins that I would miss, but there in the 1800's and my area is not that old. Of course, when at the beach, I dig everything. Of course, I miss a lot of good stuff, but that's ok, I'm obsessed with finding silver coins.

I have to call the numbers because people want to know them. Personally I would rather rely on audio. Relic and Goldfield numbers are important.

Take a look at British Army Osprey Hip Pad belt, I use one of these with a few double SA80 and Sharpshooter magazine pouches for general stuff, an MoD survival knife sheath for my Evolution trowel, Viper dump pouch for finds, Viper extended pistol mag pouch for pinpointer, I've detached the yoke and it feels like I'm carrying nothing. The Osprey belt was just coming into service when I was leaving the Army, so wasn't aware of it until recently. I looked at the older PLCE webbing for MD'ing when I was in, but it would not have worked very well. Must point out the the Viper brand is 'air-soft' stuff so not sure how well it's going to hold up, it feels sturdy enough though.
