Unlike many other chinese saloon-cars (and their Tesla conuterparts) that look good but not that spectacular, this is actually really beautiful. Especially liking it from 3/4 view rear - very nice! And the interior looks equally good. I could not care less if it is a bit plastic-y - as long as it looks great, I'm happy. Having driven the P7 and found it to be one of the best and most fun to drive saloon-cars I've tried, I am very much looking forward to having a go in this one at some point in the future. Great video, despite the rush😉

Yeah, it's a good looking car this, feels very much like what the name suggests, a P7+, like a P7 but better.
@BrianNedry2 ай бұрын
Interesting car, seems like a good option for what you're getting overall, also like the ADAS light, should be on all vehicles driving autonomously. Love that it's a hatchback, enough interior space , massaging seats. The glass roof not having a motorized sunshade is a bit of a let down plus no HUD and frunk but I guess it's to keep cost of vehicle from being too high. Overall it's still impressive for that price, would like to see the charging curve for the battery's optioned with the P7+. Thanks for the review, whenever I see your notifications for new video's I always get so excited. 🥂
@InsideChinaAuto2 ай бұрын
So glad our new videos generate that reaction in some people. That put a smile on my face, thanks! And thanks for watching. As for the light, I fully agree, I think it's worth having, especially in these times where autonomous-capable cars make up only a small portion of the overall road fleet, but we do need to educate others on what the light means as many don't even notice or care.
@EJFJ-Corporation2 ай бұрын
There is no need of my 2 inventions, for the roof it does not need a sunshade as it is included inside the glass (99.8% UV protection) but no adaptation of color, no possibility to make it darker as others brands do. Users should request this to allow a certain percentage of Xpeng Motors being delivered with this option, which is just something luxury but not necessary. And my second unnecessary invention is the Head-Up Display which is not necessary as the Xpeng PM+ should be certified ADAS 4+, very soonly... HUD was invented by me and given to BMW Group and Philips and InFocus, through Christopher Edward Bangle in February 1994 and realized slowly from this date to appear in the early 1997 as far as I can remember... I am not good in reminding dates or names... But this is close to this ... Xpeng Motors cares of what is really benefitable, useful, and does not like to give too many informations to the users. Even good (correct) informations about the car are very difficult to get! These are the 2 models of the P7+ available now, but Xpeng Motors can create variants, very sporty if necessary, with soft 3.9 seconds from 0 to 100km/h and less plastics inside, for a much more correct price of around 40000 USD! This is a fantastic cheap car, which needs to be tested and rewarded by all...

Hi Mark. Yet another great car coming out of China, my goodness you're spoilt over there , if only I was 20 or 30 years younger , great car this have they got anything smaller, other than the Mona M03 ? So you're in Guangzhou ready for the big electric show. ? I'm not sure if it's possible because you do a long video on the electric car shows , I noticed your video on Chengdu was in 1080p not 4K is that because of data as 4k uses heaps of data? Regardless I can't wait for it. Regards John
@InsideChinaAuto2 ай бұрын
Hi John. Indeed, another lovely car this. They don't have any saloons smaller than the MONA, the smallest thing they have is the G3 but I don't know if they even sell any anymore, they certainly don't advertise it but it is available. Guangzhou Auto Show is coming up in November so less than two weeks and you'll get the video of that. 1080 is indeed because of data, in two ways actually. I accidentally recorded the first part of the Chengdu video in 4k and ran out of memory half way through and because I didn't have another empty card I had to do the rest in 1080 to fit on a used card. But also it takes all of time to upload a 4k file of that length to KZbin so i opt not to otherwise it might be too long after the event and I have to strike while it's hot. Ideally all my videos would be 4k because it looks nicer but not always possible sadly.

@EJFJ-Corporation2 ай бұрын
Of course, this is planned, the Pro version will be highly improved, they were already with the Tianji XOS 5.0 version but they could not deploy it fully as they tried many things and need to warranty that only the best ones are used in each case! Xpeng Motors is not like Tesla or Li Auto to accept risks for their users... They do not sell, do not like, do not propose, they improve and warranty!
@InsideChinaAuto2 ай бұрын
The only issue with that is that this car uses lofic cameras that are much better than standard ones and they're not fitted to non-lidar versions of G6 and G9, so any update to their XNGP would be a little hamstrung for lack of those improved cameras.

Hi, I understand the Xiaopeng G6 exported overseas do not have LiDAR. Will XPeng’s “hawk eye” system be rolled out to the G6 and all other models that don’t have LiDAR? Would be grateful if you could find out the answer! Something I appreciate about XPeng is that they don’t plan to charge extra for XNGP. Unlike Tesla! Am I right?
@InsideChinaAuto2 ай бұрын
It's an interesting question on the Eagle Eye vision. I just wonder if they skimped on the Orin-X chips on those lidar-free models that went abroad or if it's still there. One thing they don't have though is the lofic cameras so even if they had the power, they might not have the extra ability the cameras offer, plus no 8-megapixel camera at the back, likely something with less resolution. I'm not sure on the XNGP cost. I certainly don't think they charge a monthly fee for it.
@JianYZhong2 ай бұрын
@@InsideChinaAuto Thanks. The specifications brochure for the XPeng G6 (here in Malaysia) says it has a NVIDIA-Orin-X. But it doesn't list the sensors, so probably no LOFIC cameras. Anyway, I hope Hawk Eye vision works without the LOFIC cameras, as I am thinking of getting the G6. The specifications brochure doesn't mention XNGP at all, but I assume it is because XPeng hasn't rolled it out internationally yet.

Do you know why Chinese manufacturers are not interested in participating in any high level motorsport events like F1, WEC or WRC ? China only has a single F1 race which is surprising for the world's biggest auto market. The middle eastern nations (obviously paying over the top money to Liberty media) have quite a few races even though they have no auto industry or any engineers. Chinese companies certainly have the R&D engineers for top level motorsport involvement. Also the cars from China maybe a bit more handling orientated.
@InsideChinaAuto2 ай бұрын
The only real motorsports brand is Lynk & Co which has won the WTCC a few times. Nio was (might still be) in Formula E too. It looks as though Xiaomi is also starting to look at the performance side of things, but historically racing hasn't had a huge following in China, it was always too far out of reach for ordinary people, but that's changing slowly, there are more and more motorsports fans here, Zhou Guanyu has inspired a lot of young people, and motor racing is steadily becoming a bigger thing, but it remains an expensive sport for most people, so give it a decade or so, maybe less, I think we'll see more brands looking at it. Bear in mind Geely now owns a chunk of Aston Martin and all of Lotus so there's potential there.

@InsideChinaAuto2 ай бұрын
I personally think lidar is the safest option. I'm not sure you'll get to zero takeovers with no lidar. On some routes, maybe, but I've seen people who regularly drive into the sun in the morning or the evening and their FSD shuts off at the same place every time because of it. Unless they can build some kind of ND filter into the camera that comes on when the sun gets too bright, or maybe a bit like that thing the F1 cameras used to have where there was a film they could move to get flies off the camera. Something like that could be interesting, a belt with various shades of 'ND' to allow the camera to work like sunglasses.
@HermanWillems2 ай бұрын
@@InsideChinaAuto I think it's all about what you get for your money. Without lidar you get almost the same as lidar but for way way way less money. Lidar systems are extremely expensive and need maintenance. This means a big bill later on... while the camera's don't need maintenance. It's the law of economics.
@InsideChinaAuto2 ай бұрын
@HermanWillems I've never heard anything about a lidar needing maintenance and they're a lot cheaper now than they were. But by your economics, we don't need airbags either, or even seatbelts really.
