people blame this on the tfws but honestly anyone would take advantage of living in a country with a higher living standard. the real issue was the feds for allowing higher unvetted immigration numbers to hopefully cool the recession and demographic crisis (which both succeeded and failed), and the provincial governments for cutting public funds on post secondary education, which led to both an influx of students coming to these colleges, and ones being flooded into private, unrecognized colleges. the real issue is the deregulation and unregulation of immigration and college placements, as well as the looming housing crisis that just kept on getting worse since like 2008. the best issue i can think of, now that immigration is being cut (not necessarily a good thing) is to make building denser home projects as easy as possible (while still having proper inspections), to build as much housing as possible. for job prospects, i guess go back to the points system but seriously focus on building the housing right now.

I came to Canada, Toronto ,just recently in March as a refugee from Ukraine. And so far other than everything being very expensive - I love it here. Toronto reminds me of my hometown and X was partially right, if you are not ready to live without some glamor and cut your expenses maybe city life is not for you. I am right now sharing a room in a shared apartment for 600$. Yes it is uncomfortable, yes no privacy, but at least cheap :D But all I said doesn't deny any of the problems mentioned in the video. I am just retelling my own experience. xqcL

not out of touch. if u can’t afford to live somewhere, move out. oh but my job and my friends. boo fkn hoo. the vid legit says that youd need to make double the minimum wage in toronto to afford a 1 bedroom apt. quit your job and get a minimum wage job somewhere that’s affordable at that point. everyone thinks they gotta live in a city to get a job. that’s just called urbanisation and good job, you’ve fallen right into it.

Actually good take. It's reality. Boohoo you cant afford the city you were born in? Sorry but you gotta adjust your lifestyle and spending, or go harder and earn more than your means. xqc just spoke the cold hard truth and a lot of yall are so soft and snowflakes that youre looking for comforting and reassuring words-- like go ask your mama for that, not from an online livestreamer lmfao

The racism against canadians of indian descent because of new immigration is insane look at the chat. Any other race that had this said about them would be losing their minds.

if I forced a bunch of black people to start camping out inside your basement/attic/backyard/etc, I'm sure you'd have some very colorful things to say about them after a few weeks. Same story with the Haitians in the U.S. (although the Indian/Canadian issue is like 20x more prevalent unironically). This isn't rocket science, human behaviour is very replicatable. You can't swamp a native population by a SINGLE demographic and expect people to just be ok and hunky dory about it. ANY economist will agree: Immigrants almost always cause direct harm to a country in the shortterm (few years) but "grow the economy" in the longterm. This applies to socialization too. When they refuse to speak the language of the nation they live and congregate mostly among themselves, it grows disdain among people. Anecdotally, the best Canadians I know are almost always second gen immigrants; their parents went through the struggle and instill very strong virtues in the children who have respect for their own culture and the one they currently live in. This is just an issue of size. No native population will ever accept immigrant influx of this magnitude.

No the US has a far worse immigration problem. Canada looks like a dream compared to much of the US. We don't live right next door to Mexico, we have way more land than the Americans and 10x less people. You guys have been getting screwed for so long that when I went to the south many places there was no one who even spoke english, I had to get some spanish dude that knew my friend to translate. In god damn USA when they have one national language. That was 10 years ago too, I don't even want to see what Southern Cali looks like now. The amount of people pouring through the border illegally alone is probably the amount we get legally in like 5 years. But because we have less people and 99% of the time they move to already crowded cities we notice it just the same. To Indians and Chinese though, our definition of overcrowded is skewed and they seek to change that.
