trick I learned from my mechanic dad for holding screws - get a piece of cardboard and stick the screws into it. That way you can keep the screws in the same relative positions and its super simple to know which screw goes in where.

I used to think your videos were a bit long, but really informational longform videos like this are insanely helpful and relaxing to watch, especially in comparison to many other nerftuber's more bombastic style of editing with lots of long unnecessary intros, obvious brand shilling and generally just conflating enthusiasm with volume. Really well done! I think you've nailed a nerftube demographic that's relatively untapped! Also, seconding the FF warning, they're just generally unreliable for quality parts until you nag them about the quality of the parts they sent you, then they're all excuses. Silverfox is much more reliable imo.
@backyardfoam Жыл бұрын
I really appreciate your feedback. I tried to be a little more heavy handed with the time stamps so viewers can jump around to exactly what they want. I'll definitely be doing a follow-up video with some alternative parts from silverfox and OOD. I will say FLF did offer to send me the o rings at no charge. I most likely threw them out with box. But I want to see what what the other shops have to offer. Thanks for the support!

Frontline Foam is notorious for not having precise tolerances in their machined parts. The aluminum plunger tube from Silver Fox Industries does not have that play and also comes with replacement o rings to maintain the seal

I'm running 19 coils of pro25 with mostly no issues yet, need to get foamdemics petg collet and barrel adaptor, these pla ones wear out. But my weakest spot is the pusher/prime bar. How's yours holding up? I have both 45 and 50 cm barrels, and I feel the 50 is a perfect length for the power.

Most everyone just clips off the top piece that ratchets the slide back, and the O-Rings provided with the plunger tube are necessary to create perfect seal, it's riding loose as he says because he's using the stock o-rings not the provided ones.
@backyardfoam5 ай бұрын
Yeah I was able to bump up to a better seal with slightly thicker o rings. I also achieved the same result with some plumbers tape as my plunger tube did not come with any addition o rings. Thabks for the support!

It would require 'a bit' of re-engineering, but if mag-well is messaged to locate the 1/2 dart magazine fully to the rear of the mag-well, there would be room for at least an inch of additional 😊pluger-system, may be more. They're only $30.00 a pop. I'd be willing to sacrifice 2 of them to get one with slong-sleeved plunger- system. I may have to look into that after the 1st of the year.

@BOWGATOR71 The plunger tube was too short and it was not the right diameter so even a new replacement O-ring that I had to get didn’t even work. and I tried contacting them and they never responded. so that’s what happened. And it was the first time buying something from them.

Yes.! Nerf Science. ! That's how I roll. Make 1 change, then test, make another change, then test. 1 thing at a time, keeping it as basic as possible. My Nerf Longshot was hitting over 120fps with the stock-spring. It took 2-weeks to make a custom sleeper-breech, and approximately 18-22"inches of cust-polished barrel. I used brass(still do.😎) cause it's how I roll.
@JangoFoamFlinger Жыл бұрын
Wow. Great video. Lots of good info. I'm wondering if it will work well with a brass barrel? I've been using 17/32 brass and OOD upgrade spring in my nexus and stryker, and been getting consistent 200FPS with only 5 standard deviation. I bought an X Longshot to mod it, and I'm still collecting data about which barrel type, spring, and plunger tube combination gives the best consistency.

Make sure you have the trigger lock in correctly. Another big one is the ram and catch, they can be oriented the wrong way, preventing the shell from closing. Just try rotating the system half a turn.

Could I use a cut down K25 with a stock plunger tube?
@backyardfoam Жыл бұрын
Pretty much everything I've read says the plunger tube can barely survive the stock spring. During my testing, I put over 1000 darts through the stock blaster and didn't have any issues. I don't have any testing data to provide past that with the stock plunger tube. I guess you could try it, and if it breaks, at least you know the part to replace it with is available.

So why did you take the after market foregrip off again?
@backyardfoam11 ай бұрын
I didn't care for how it attached. It felt less secure than the original. Additionally, the original foregrip covers up the awful white cheap plastic pic rail better. I guess a couple coats of paint would fix that. Maybe I'll give it another shot or print a shroud to cover it.
