I'm really torn between this VC2 charger and the VP2. I know they aren't exactly in the same line in terms of specifications, but there are some features in this that I really like. Like for example the mAh feed, the fact that I can use my phone charger with this (which i have with me always) and it's less than half the price of the VP2. But then again the VP2 is definitely faster, more versatile, and who knows what kind of batteries i'll be getting in the future.. Great review. Gave you a thumbs up.

You did not get me , i want to use MY POWER BANK to XTAR VC2 to charge 18650
@Lightsngear7 жыл бұрын
Yes... I did get you... and had a brain freeze at the same time! Yes, for all intent & purposes, what you're saying will work, but the lower current of the VC2 means it'll take twice as long to charge...using more power from your bank. The VC2 is a better charger for smaller batteries since it can't use anything higher than 0.5A
@swayback73759 жыл бұрын
Not only li-ion, it also charges li-Mn 18650 too, small difference, I know, but higher end 18650 are moving towards li-mn and this unit seems to charge them fine! Hi, and thanks for this review! Is this VC2 has features that Nitecore D2 does not ? When Xtar says "The first charger in the market which can tell you the real power of your battery!", we must understand that Nitecore D2 is not capable of?? Sorry if you already explain in the review, but I do not understand English very well.
@Lightsngear10 жыл бұрын
freebaseur Hi! Glad you liked the video. I believe what XTAR is saying, is that by displaying the amount of mAh that the battery is receiving, it is in fact giving you "the real power of your battery." They are both good chargers, but that is how the XTAR is different from the D2.
@freebaseur10 жыл бұрын
Syrbuff Indeed, it is possible. Feature so good ! Even my iCharger 206B does not give me the actual amperage it seems! "0V activation function" is also a good feature that D2 has not perhaps (?). Apart from that D2 charging NiMH and LiFePo. But as I also have a Voltcraft IPC -1L specifically for NiMH, I will continue my collection with this VC2. And we'll see for a Lithium/LiFePo/NiMH later... ^^ A big thank you for your help!

I drained an Ultrafire 14500 - 2300mAh by using it in a torch until it wouldn't light up. Then I put it in a VC2. When it registered as Full, 340mAh was displayed. Is the 14500 faulty? Or is the VC2's information useless and pointless? I would be just as well off with a simple red/green light.
@ashscott60688 жыл бұрын
Don't worry, 34mAh is pretty good for an Ultrafire, no matter what capacity they write on the side. Try it with a decent battery and see what it reads. Also...if you use a protected battery, you won't be able to read the capacity this way

I'll pass. For a little more, you can get a charger that will discharge the battery. Also, there's no professional that will ever measure amperage on charge! Only on discharge! Ever had a battery test full but once it's used it dies really fast? This is the reason you measure on the actual discharge and not how much is simply put in! This guy did a decent review but I hate when reviewers spell out terms! it's like saying how fast did you drive to get here? 70mph instead of saying miles per hour! mAh!!! just say milli amp hour! ma!!! just say milli amp
