I like the fact it incorporates the colour printer, cutting blade which is useful for thin acrylic, materials etc and the option to engrave using foiling or even just write text with the pens. I have the F1 already which is fine for cutting and engraving small items but I like the idea of the larger footprint and the additional crafting features. Thanks for a great review ☺️

@@SarahNenniDaher thanks I'm excited. I have 2 Circuit Explore Air 2's I use here and there. I'm thinking for how little I use them... And the issues I've had with print and cut with them, that this might replace them and give me all the benefits of the laser all in one. Beside the speed, this seems like it might be more like a Cricut Maker (lite) than an explore so that's a bonus. 🤣👍

I have the S1 and love it - but I have to correct you on something. The riser in the US has a front opening, the ones in many countries, the EU and UK, for example, do not and do not have the multi shelf capability. It is not allowed for safety reasons. Other than that, yours is the first video I have seen, where the user has been so honest in what it will or won't do and who it is good for and who is not going to gain anything from buying one. I would not recommend a 10W because I think it would be under powered and I agree that the honeycomb is a good idea. Also a good idea is the air assist. From my use of lasers, I also suggest getting a silicone mat to place under work, on the base, where possible, as it will collect the debris and allow easy clean up (specially if a closed front riser is used). This is not the sort of machine that will replace a plotter for people bulk making stickers, or those who want to do large vinyl cuts or make big projects but I do think it will be a fun machine for many. For those who don't have the funds for it and just want to try a 'baby' laser, there will be a lot of M1 machines on the second hand market very soon!

Great points! I have (primarily) a US-based audience, but I'll try to do better on that in the future. Thank you. I didn't do stickers for this reason (though will try them later). Anyone who has a business with stickers is much better off printing on a high quality printer and cutting on a plotter but I'm curious to see how vibrant I can get on the paper because the wood looks great. Thanks for the tip and for the reminder that the world is a small place.

Thanks for this! Can you advise why you don’t think this would be as effective for regularly cutting stickers? It seems to be able to cut as well and as quickly as something like a Silhouette to Cricut. Or do you think the software is what makes it the lesser choice?
@SarahNenniDaher
@SarahNenniDaher 3 ай бұрын
@@astoriarosewood5135 Actually, the blade is comparable (though it might be a bit slower than a Cricut Maker). For me, it would be the printing. Those with sticker businesses will likely want to keeping using a much more robust system for printing (like a Pixmo Pro). For those of us who want to print our own business stickers as a freebie thank you gift or magnets for advertisements, this is more than capable.

@@astoriarosewood5135 The speed, which is not likely to be as fast as a normal printer; the print quality (XTool said was not as good) and that you can't do a continuous long sheet and then separate them. OK for domestic stickers but not so good if you have a business selling them.

I didn’t know this about the riser in the UK so that’s good to know. I have seen a rise in M1 machines on marketplace this year and I think it because of the power, so 20W is definitely the way to go. I will be purchasing the M1 ultra in the future maybe around Black Friday 🤞🏾🤞🏾 all the features and the size suits my needs. I’m grateful for this tutorial

Hi there. Just saw your video - very informative - very helpful. I do have one question if you can help me. I am looking for a multi-function Laser and cutting machine - AND Embossing. I know that the M1Ultra can emboss leather - and can do foil embossing - My question is - can the M1Ultra emboss Foil into LEATHER - or even faux leather. My main goal is to have a machine that can do multiple tasks - but I'm really looking for a machine that can emboss foil into leather. Such as - a hardcover book that has 'gold foil embossing' - if that makes sense. Do you think or know if this machine can do that? Any feedback/opinions/experience you have regarding that particular task that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance - love your channel. Your #1 want was exactly the same as mine. They hint there is more coming, so my fingers are crossed. Thank you SO much for this video, it was SO helpful. I just got my M1 Ultra and while I know my way around a Cricut, I was overwhelmed at all the settings and features. I kept wondering how in other videos people seemed to just know what settings to use for different materials and couldn't figure out how they knew this stuff other than trial and error or experience. Needless to say, I've subscribed to your channel 😊. BTW, the 'possum was HILARIOUS!

Hi I'm completely new to craft machines and I'm really struggling. I build paper models from pepakura (.PDO files) and want to use this machine to cut out the pieces for me. I can't find any vids specifically for this. I can convert my .PDO files into .SVG but they import into XCS with so many lines and boxes and layers they're a mess. The closest thing I can find is Print and Cut stickers but cut on the line so zero offset. Any advice or direction you can point me in would be a huge help..
@SarahNenniDaher
@SarahNenniDaher 29 күн бұрын
Wow, that art form is so cool! As for the PDO files, they would have to be converted to SVG and then placed in a vector editing software to unite/combine vs group. I use Adobe Illustrator, but Inkscape is a free option. XCS will import each element, not layer so that you have maximum control. The good news is that they can be either edited once within XCS, saved, and stay grouped for multiple uses. The bad news is that there is no program (aside from a vector editing program) which will be able to import without the separation of elements.

The Xtool M1 Ultra will cut acrylic. You are giving partially false information. Clear and certain colours it will not cut. But making a blanket statement that it will not cut acrylic, is wrong. Read the specs and do some research. We have one and it cuts opaque acrylic beautifully.

Never said it wouldn’t cut acrylic AND even provide examples of acrylic pieces both engraved and cut with this laser. Not sure what you’re getting at here but if you watched it, you’d discover I said that it a) doesn’t cut all colors but does some well and b) if you’re looking for *primarily* acrylic work, this isn’t the laser for you.
