Thanks to the 310 comments who entered the giveaway! The winner is: @chibisven Congrats! I'll be doing another one in the video next week, so be sure to tune in. Remember, I'll never ask you for money for these. Ever. Also, many people have pointed out that the XVive is "upside down" because it will be "right side up" when you are looking at it while it's down on your belt. That definitely makes sense! I didn't think of that. Although the way our drummer has it, it's upside down so that's what I assumed. But either way, it's still a great system! Thanks for watching everyone.

I've have been looking for something like this for my church. We only have piano and drums, and sometimes organist. This will work great on our small budget. Thanks for the great video. My spoon is too big
@OldChurchTechGuy3 ай бұрын
I believe Xvive labeled stuff upside down on the unit so that if it’s clipped to your belt or a front pants pocket, when you look down to adjust your mix the text is now right side up and easy to read. So a feature and not a mistake. 😁

Scott, another great video. I bought the wireless X5 system based on your videos. It’s great but my spoon is too big. I’m a duo, guitar/singer with a bass player. My board has a BeatBuddy for drums and a vocal harmony pedal (TC Helicon Harmony Singer). Right now I feed it all to a Boss Gigcaster 8 and y-cable the drums and guitar into a mini mixer along with the vocals and bass. This will let my bass player have his own mix and will let me adjust my mix standing at the mic vs leaning down on my pedal board (nobody wants to see you playing with your board on stage). All good even though my spoon is too big. 😂

Thanks! And that’s a cool setup for sure 🤘🤘

Hey Scott. Great video as usual. The only thing I can think of as to why the writing is upside down is that if it was clipped to your belt with the IEM volume control in the up position, you would be able to look down and read what input control is what. Of course that becomes a moot point if the system doesn't ship with a belt clip or something like that.

Oh interesting, I didn’t think of that! That’s definitely possible

Thanks for sharing Scott! My spoon is too big, but my gear tolerance is unlimited. If you’ve got an idea on how to switch between multiple stereo xlr sources (for when your soundman cancels at the last minute, and you need to check the FOH mix then get back to your personal mix in your IEMs), a video on that would be awesome.
@ScottUhlMusic3 ай бұрын
Thanks! And man, I had to do that once because the sound guy was having all sorts of issues with his mixer. I had to switch to just sending him a LR for a festival style show and our IEM rack for that band wasn’t setup for running FOH (if we need FOH my singer uses his mixer, not mine). It was basically just soundcheck as fast as possible and kind of mix as we played the first few songs. A lot of strumming a chord and letting it sustain for 2 measures while making adjustments lol
@Five0Music3 ай бұрын
@@ScottUhlMusic I can’t even explain how much I understand that awkwardness. I thought about repurposing a studio monitor source control box to select from two mixes to feed my IEMs, or just go mono and use the Radial XLR AB box to flip between my IEM mix and the FOH mix. I have to figure out something! Keep the good info coming, bro.

Scott! My name is Robby, I'm a product specialist at Xvive! Just wanted to thank you so much for this awesome video! Your content is incredible, and we truly appreciate your showcase of the new PX system. We wanted to share that the layout was intentionally designed with drummers in mind. We aimed for a design where, when a drummer looks down, the channels are laid out clearly and are easily accessible. We believe this enhances usability during performances. We’d love to hear any more thoughts you have! You Rock!

One of our band members is an older gentleman in his 70s. I think this would be helpful for him to have the main mix, his guitar, and his vocal as the three inputs to control how much of himself he hears in his in-ears. That way he won't be turning up and be too loud in the mix for everyone else. My spoon is too big.

Kinda nifty, and combines that new RJ45>XLR snake idea into a headphone amp. I can imagine this being more useful if the drummer isn't the one triggering the tracks in that case of the full band needing the mix. In my projects my drummer's run their own click and our tracks and they only feed the tracks off a DI to our X32 Rack. We send them 1 feed for the mix of everything else so they get all 3 mix options without needing extra splits at the board. This is why I figured its more useful if your tracks are being fed from elsewhere. We are certainly starting to get interesting options more an more these days so there are more scenarios having something simple to address them. Xvive has been pretty active on the "small scale" scene and I look forward to seeing their future product lineup. Cheers!

I like this a lot, I think it could replace my chunky Behringer 502 mixer on my pedalboard, although I'd lose stereo if I want to mix 3 sources. Pretty neat, although the hub IMO is a poor idea, unless you literally play with only 2 other people and no one else.
