Aaand...we're back with the second part of our series of Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials for Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.
In this video, I show you guys how I started the first spring of the game: what I did, how I did it, and how to earn money early on, what best route to take, and stuff like that.
I also showcased how I do things later in the game with a glimpse at my 1st year of Fall savefile.

I fish all night, go to the spring around 3:30am to get my stamina up and then go to bed before 6am, works and you get more into each day

Hi just a suggestion for your morning route up to mother’s hill, you could take instead the hot spring one first so you could interact with Popuri and Ann, and offer to the Harvest Goddess while you’re at it, then go up to forage and take the other way in going down :)

Thanks for sharing. 😊 You can actually catch them even if you do the southern route first if you’re quick enough. The reason I went with the southern one first is because part of the routine is to visit all the houses and shops anyway to interact with the characters, so you’ll end up meeting Popuri and Ran when you visit their respective establishments.

I do mining instead of fishing, I go to the spring mine, save and reload to find the stairs to go down the level. Until lvl 10 to get adamantine, and orichalcum, both are worth 50g, mine is considered indoors so time is frozen. You can stack them to 9 each that's 450g, 900g if both stacks hit 9. The hot spring is there so I usually do it after foraging, or after watering and harvesting the crops. It's a great alternative but very time consuming irl, since you need to save, upon entering. Dig up to find the stairs, reload, dig up the spot, save, head down, save dig to find the stairs, reload, and etc. Its time consuming and seen as scummy but very effective to get mystrile, to upgrade the tools all the way to the end. Fishing imo, is very luck based and difficult to get a stack of 9 or 18 as in the mine. Btw you can throw weeds to the harvest goddess she still gives the berry, since I like to save the flowers as gifts to give to potential dating interests.

The flowers is more for Van’s sake since you can only unlock Van if you give 30 liked or loved gifts to the goddess. Also, time passes in the mine but a bit differently as it only does upon going down the stairs to the next level or dropping from holes. Still, awesome tip! I was leaving the talk about mines for the next video (as was the plan I stated in the first video) but you beat me to it, haha. 👍🏻

@@IAmVianca idk I'll have to try that out to see if weeds work since idk pets were available or how to get them. I'm aware but it's very slowly, and the day doesnt end until 6 am. So you can mine hop into the springs later. Until like 430 am to get max stamina and fatigue. Run home go sleep. Or just not sleep either way... The only reason I know or do this is cause I played the FOMT, in the 00s. I'm old. Would be interesting to see if weeds work, since as a vet of the game, I like to rush to get as much done in the 1st yr to have an optimal build. To get QoL, like the rucksacks, to get tools upgraded and have harvest sprites simple mode imo makes it easier to accomplish some things, like 18 turnips and 2k, is actually like 3296 if all the turnips are 1 star, meaning you can make more if the they are higher quality. So far my strategy is get rucksack asap, then go to gotts, to get trees since they passively provide income, currently its 1 grape tree, 1 apple, and 3 orange trees since winter is limited in forging and crops. Trying to get tools upgraded to mystrile, by winter to get cursed tools in the winter. It's a game you play against yourself imo. You can just chill out and relax or grind to find the fastest way to get tools upgraded, build the optimal farm, and etc. I have another thing I'd like to test, can the nature sprites hop over or go past a lumber fence cause I'd like them to not sell off the flowers I'd wanna grow, since most ppl like them, easy gifts to give and once I "max" out having enough in storage, I can sell them off. Those 2 things would be interesting to test out. The other is i wanted to have equal amounts of the chickens, cause both variants are cute and 8 bought both at once so I stored one of the eggs. As in 1 regular chicken and 1 brown chicken, figured both eggs would cause one of each to come out but nope, maybe it got fixed in the recent patch. Made me rethink the order of operations.

Hello thank you for the tips. I was wondering when you're watering your crops are you holding a button down to where you can water them more carefully? I don't have a decent too yet so I accidentally water everything but the crop I want. 😅

It has to be once per day. You can keep on feeding him even after the season ends just as long as you have the cucumbers, though.

Haha, well, it's fine. In retrospect, maybe I SHOULD have added that in. But, I assumed people knew or got the idea that you'd need a free space to get the rod. It is pretty tedious, but you can use the mining technique I've also made a tutorial on to make it easier for you. :)

Stupid question, how do u forge items. I keep seeing poeple say it. I need logs to upgrade home and online says forge sticks but no one says HOW to forge items into what u need

Sorry I wasn't able to reply sooner. But, I think you mean "forage"? For logs, just use your axe on the branches scattered around the areas. For stones, use your hammer on the rocks. The stumps and the boulders need higher levels of axes and hammers to break them, though.

How do you get a stocking???

You have to befriend Ellen. Then upgrade your barn (or your coop. It depends if you have a sheep or a rabbit). After that, commission to have a Yarn Maker from the Blacksmith. Once you have the Yarn Maker, simply make one and then give the yarn to Ellen. She’ll give you the stockings.
