Ahaha, thanks. As for tips on when you should mine, if you have rainy days and you're not really short on cash, then go with mining. Otherwise, fishing is the activity for during that type of weather. The best time to mine, though (for completion and not getting the materials required for upgrading your tools) should be winter since you have much more free time then and mining and fishing (as well as your animal produce) are your only source of income during that time. You should, however, always take time to mine if you've already unlocked the requirements to upgrade your tools since that would allow you to use them (and, essentially) do more if you've upgraded them. It would also make clearing your field and obtaining materials easier with upgraded tools.

Hi I love your video, so I have a question... in the lake mine at the level 9 was a cave with a lake, I try fishing but never get it, do you know what I mean?

Hi, thanks for the comment. As for fishing in the 9th level, you would need a cursed or a blessed fishing rod to be able to fish there.

Ok...I am super lost with the journal entries and reading in the mine. Also...my journal entries are full...not sure if I can overwrite it? But anyhoo....I am definitely lost on the journal entries and how they will help me with mining. Thanks in advance. I wonder why this game just comes "as is" with not instructions on how to do things...still fun though... :)

You can save using the journal. The game gives you a couple of slots for it. The first in that (the one at the very top) is for autosave, so don't touch that. You can overwrite your save files, so just pick one (doesn't have to be the main one you use) and overwrite that. The reason why this is helpful is because the game preloads what you find in the floor of a mine the moment you go down the ladder. So, what this trick does is that, since you saved before going down the mine's floor, you can then use your energy to find the spot where the ladder to the next floor is and then reload your game so that you can save energy in trying to find that ladder (because you already know where it is). So, if you, say, wanted to find a gem you can just hammer away and remember where the ores and gems are, then reload the game and hammer on the stones where the gems and ores you want are. It saves you energy so you can get to deeper floors. Haha, I think it's because they wanted you to play at your own pace and let you explore and uncover things on your own...either that or because they thought people would be aware of how to play this game since it was a remake of the original one.

@@IAmVianca Thank you so much for taking THIS MUCH TIME with me. I think reading this after the fact explains why it seemed I was starting over. I did see the options to continue, then start game...I pressed continue and then I was a whole new person...ugh.

Haha, it’s fine. I’m happy to help. :) The game doesn’t do autosaves the way that AC does, so you have to save the game yourself. Then, when you quit the game, select Load since Continue, iirc, loads up the autosave.

Hi there! Where do I go to complete a recipe? The dr gave me one and I don't know how to do it. also I keep going to that place by the beach for my fishing rod and.. that guy (forgot his name) is not offering it to me...am I supposed to be giving him gifts for it? :\ ...thanks again for this channel :)

For the cooking/recipe, you need to have your house upgraded first. So, gather all the materials (wood and stone) as well as money, exit south of your farm, and head to the house on the right. That's the carpenter's house. Talk to him there, when it's open, and just ask him to upgrade your house. You would get the kitchen then. You still need to buy the cooking utensils (which become available overtime at the Grocery Store) though. As for the fishing rod, you need to go there at a specific time, as mentioned in my video.

@@IAmVianca Oh Em GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! So I am not sure what happened. I took out my cartridge to play another game. ACNH and when I put Mineral Town back in. I am back at square one! Starting all over. Picking a character and everything! All my work is gone. I just had a few chicks and land but still....I noticed there was no save mode it's like I was playing forever . I can't just keep one game in all the time. Can you advise on how to ensure my game saves? This one is way complicated :\ The good thing now I know what to do now at the start but...I have other games I play. I don't download I use cartridges....Hope you have the answer to this one. Sorry for all the inquiries...I'm a newbie. :) Update: Apparently in my journal entry I was able to go back to where I was, yet I have this whole other life as a newbie to the farm in another entry....I'm confused...I am living a double life? LOL. There are only 8 slots in the journal so how will I save all my progress without overwriting another. Anyhoo...ummm....it's weird. But I really need to get this down because I would hate to make major progress and lose it. Thanks again! ;)

You have to save the game. Pick one of those 8 slots. The very top one should say “autosave”, so don’t touch that. All the other slots should be fine to save your game on and you have to do that frequently.

Not sure what you mean by your idea? I think I already stated way back that this is a series. Also, it’s not really a secret that mining is lucrative during winter with the Lake Mine. Nor is it uncommon to think of selling ores and minerals even way back in the early HM games so I’m not sure where you are coming from.
