The most memorable part is maybe the very begining, Link being telepathicaly summoned to become a hero and obtaining the master sword for the first time. But really everything about this game is iconic and I could probably describe every event, dungeon, enemy, item and magic um detail. I must have played this a thousand times.
@dudeman53032 жыл бұрын
Definitely the part where you get the flute and also when the son turns to wood, that whole part makes me emotional for some reason, there's just something really sad and emotional about it. But then the portion when you fight aghanim, right before the battle with Gannon. That moment, having the bird swoop in to save you in a place where you wouldn't even be able to summon it really seemed intense to me. Link just happens to play it and the bird somehow shows up to pick him up and brings link to safety, and seeing that while Gannon is flying by and he crashes into the golden palace - it's just insane. Something about it just really hits me hard, this tiny bird is essentially defenseless but happens to show up and saves link and puts itself in Gannon's way the whole time, and in circumstances that don't normally work out, because you can't summon the bird indoors at any point in the game. Idk, something about it just seems particularly intense and it always just

My favorite part was the Flute Boy's story. That's what really turned me into a Determinator where the Main Quest was concerned. Ganon was going _down_ after I found out about that, no matter what it took.
@dudeman53032 жыл бұрын
Same! That and the point where the duck comes to the rescue and you end up at the top of the golden palace. Those two stories are linked in that way, and something about the story regarding the flute and how it goes into that ending portion makes me emotional. The duck can't be summoned indoors and it's known already long before that battle, but link happens to decide to play it in that moment still despite that fact and the duck somehow swoops in to grab him, and that's on top of the fact that that bird is completely defenseless to all of the dark creatures and especially gannon, and yet it shows up for link in that moment. Idk something about that just hits hard, both the boy's story but then the additional sentimentality of that scene. I 100% agree with you on that ( I know I'm extrapolating a bit and going into separate stories but I still see them as tied together because of the flute/duck). Edit: I just realized also, that story about the flute and the boy was the first thing from a video game to ever make me tear up, something about that forest scene really hit hard. My siblings always laughed those kinds of scenes off or made fun of people suffering but when I was able to play it on my own and I got to that point it really made me feel strongly about everything

There never was another Zelda game like A Link to the Past. None of them ever followed the same well done formula again. Exploration was treated as secondary with Ocarina of Time and after. See, exploration was needed to actually finish the game, and sure while it told you there were places you needed to go to move on with the story, It wasn't the only part of the game. You could explore, find secrets, and the items in the dungeons didn't exactly mean you needed it to defeat a boss, hell in the ice dungeon you have to defeat the boss with an item you got from the skull woods. Just to defeat the turtle rock boss you need the ice rod and fire rod. The ice rod having to be tracked down by actually exploring and isn't even in a dungeon. This is one of the few games where I legitimately can not find any faults. It's like a god damned perfect game.

You'd probably get more and more views for the newer games too! The newer ones are relevant to people who know about it but haven't played. The OLDER ones would be appreciated by everyone who CAN'T play them! every video out there is covering the lore in timeline order. I was specifically interested in gameplay and mostly story of the games in RELEASE order. It doesn't seem like many people do that. I also really appreciate that you've got the videos broken up. I like longform content, but this is easier to find exactly what you want. It's honestly not necessary to do it all at once in a 1-4 hour video like everyone on KZbin does now. Remember Ocarina of Time has 3 timelines at the end of the game ( to my knowledge) and OoT is before Zelda I, Zelda II and Zelda III! In the fallen timeline when Link lost to Ganon and was killed, Ganon took Link's Triforce and Zelda's too, in desperation Zelda had no choice but to seal Ganon with what was left of her power in the Golden Land with all 3 pieces of the Triforce! And now the beginning of this video continues where I left off.

You forgot to mention that Link’s uncle died because he fought and lost to Aghanim. You also didn’t mention that Aghanim is merely a puppet of Ganon.
@SmooveShotta5 жыл бұрын
he said aghanim was ganon altor ego. but where in the game does it say links uncle fought aghanim?
@YoshiCookie5 жыл бұрын
It’s because Link’s uncle tried to strike Aghanim (remember he’s invulnerable to normal swords) that he was felled. It’s in the game somewhere and in the comic as well.

A fun little Easter egg I used to defeat Agahnim instead of the Master Sword is the Bug Catching Net. So since you don't technically need the Master Sword to defeat him, if only you could get to him without getting the sword...

I hope they make another game like 3DS' Zelda. That handheld/SNES style made the best games. LTTP is astoundingly good, held up better than most devs recent attempts at adventure RPG

@@Xygor I have an original SNES with Link to the Past. But seeing as it's old, and I don't want to wear it out, I use an emulator instead. I haven't played the game in a while now, but boy oh boy, did I play it in the past. My parents had a SNES for their wedding gift to each other, and it has been with the family ever since. ALTTP was the second video game I had ever seen, let alone played. I goofed around on it for many years as a little kid, having no idea how it worked, and it was only in more recent years when I actually finished it. What I meant by it feeling like a finale, was this is one of the only games where Link gets the whole Triforce. That, and the fantastic soundtrack at the credits. I hadn't noticed until I really payed attention, but the staff roll theme begins as a major version of the prologue theme. It literally resolves.
