As you have surely noticed, this video is different than the previous ones. I'm experimenting with a simpler style: less fancy and colorful but would allow me more frequent uploads. Nothing is final yet so please, feel free to share your thoughts. In the mean time, I'm working on the third and final episode of the flea saga - yes, still using the old graphics. It will probably be done before Judgement Day.

Thank you for the constructive criticism! Talking speed is indeed an issue but I'd like to think that I've improved on it since I started. If you compare my early videos to the latest one (on DNA), there is a considerable difference. I may not be where I should be yet, but I'm working on it. :)
@Dimension6408 жыл бұрын
Else-Vet yes you definitely have improved (haven't seen that video until now), as a non native speaker myself I understand how hard it is. I said that because sometimes it feels like the video goes too slow and it seems to me that speeding your speech would definitely improve that. Anyway that's just a small issue, and you will surely improve

I have always found it interesting that dogs have a stomach of iron seemingly, and can eat stuff that would kill a human, like carrion and feces, for example..yet stuff like Xylitol and chocolate is poisonous to them..I always heard onions were bad for them as well...

My neighbors had pit bulls which were aggressive and would not stay in off our property. We called the local police who sent animal control and they did nothing. The owners did build a fence which now looks bad and is falling apart. The pit bulls circled my wife one day as she walked to our mailbox to get the mail. I called police again and made certain every one of my complaints were on record. The owners got rid of the pit bulls and got two smaller dogs which are now... also on our property. They don’t try to train the dogs to not roam the neighborhood. Four years ago a swat team apprehended a person running thru my front yard who was a visitor of this neighbor. I asked for the police report from the cop who came to our house after complaints of the dog. It turns out a felon lives in that house, with a drug record. They have guns, and children also live there. In the police report, the cops smelled the “overwhelming smell marijuana” when they entered the house with a battery complaint. I’m not making this up. Children, guns, drugs and a felon are noted in the police report and... the police DID NOTHING but issue a warning to the visitor who was “tweaking” it said in the police report. Back to the dogs who are I assume sentry dogs because they obviously have a small drug operation there. We want to sell pour house because of this trashy mess. The dogs HAVE TO GO. The rest of the mess can stay as far as I care... at least when SHTF... I can hand the media the police report and laugh at the cops for doing nothing. The dogs crap on my property so I pick it up and throw it over the fence into their trashy looking fence. Their dogs are on our property first thing in the morning now, barking aggressively at us. Today I ordered a pound of Xylitol from Walmart. Thank you for the information. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Is Stevia safe for dogs? My dog (or it could have been my cat-he does weird things) ate a container of lip balm. The container did not get eaten (so no plastic was consumed) but the whole thing of balm is gone. I looked up the ingredients and it lists stevia as the sweetner (it's blackberry flavour lip balm). My cat has pica (likes to eat strange things like paper) and I found the lip balm container in his area. Both animals are suspects, but both of them seem normal tonight. I think this was eaten about 12 hrs ago when I was out.
@elsevetchannel8 жыл бұрын
No artificial sweeteners apart from xylitol are known to be toxic to dogs. Stevia - as far as I know - has not been scientifically examined in this regard but there haven't been any reports of it causing problems ever. Cats don't seem to be sensitive to any of the sweeteners (not even to xylitol) but again, no experiments have been performed to confirm this - it's just based on empirical data.

Would extreme xylitol poisoning in dogs cause contant vomiting followed by thirst leading to more vomiting?
@elsevetchannel8 жыл бұрын
Vomiting can be a sign of low blood sugar but the way you describe it (repeated vomiting with drinking between episodes), it's most likely something else, such as intestinal obstruction or acute gastritis. Unfortunatelly, vomiting can be a symptom of many things so just by that alone, it's hard to say anything concrete.

Xylitol is not really artificial. I suppose anything that is extracted or processed in order to make it in a convenient form and pure can be considered artificial. In that case sugar can be considered as artificial. There is no white sugar in nature, for example. We don’t grind up,sugar cane to,make white sugar. We process the hell out of natural plants to get white sugar. The same is true for the form of xylitol we humans use.

Alaskanassass1n my dog ended up being fine! But I would highlyyyy recommend taking your dog to the vet because one pack of gum is a lot! I understand that it might be late at night but going to the vet will really help calm your nerves that you might be having.
@Alaskanassass1n4 жыл бұрын
It wasn’t a pack it was a container with 39 pieces in it! I decided to watch her throughout the night because everything I read said she would start showing signs in as little as 15 minutes and we’re 50 hours in now and nothing... I’m baffled by all of this, everything I have read online was awful but it didn’t seem to have effected her at all, I’ll continue to keep an eye on her and take her in to have her liver tested but she seems to be just fine! I just lost my dog of 10 years to cancer and this dog is a new rescue (a very naughty rescue) so I couldn’t imagine losing another dog! I’m glad your dog was ok as well, did you have to go through a lot with a vet? Or did she not show any signs either.

Here's a story similar to a dog eating whatever its called can't read it while I'm commenting so here's a story that is true: I have diabetes I was born with it you may be wondering wait only adults can get it there's also type 1 diabetes which is the one that I have wait I haven't started the story all I've been talking about is the other stuff sorry I'll get right to it: so I was supposed to get my insulin shot but instead my brother got it this was when I was younger when my brother was 3 ( if you are in this timeline I am 10 my brother brother is 4) so my mom gave me shots but instead she grabbed the wrong arm and she grabs my brother and poked the needle inside and gave him insulin scaring me to death we rushed over to the hospital they didn't take him so I cried for my brother I loved him so much then we went to st. Mary's Hospital they fixed him right up and now my brother is living a happy life :)
