Good idea kiddo. I'd forgotten about that tune. The kids would have fun with that one. Amber would be right in the middle of that kinda fun. She's got the heart of a Flower Child and Hippy of the 60's and 70's. Oblah Dee Oblah Da by The Beatles is one of those songs.

This is such a great song. It was in heavy rotation on our campus radio when I was in college in the '80s. I never really thought it fit with the punk rock / alt rock format of the station, but I played it every week during my time slot.

I know you know about the band Three Dog Night....well something sad has happened.....Yesterday...the world lost a brilliant talent in the producer, engineer and musician Richie Podolor. Richie was an amazing musical guide for Three Dog Night from its very first record at MCA and he continued producing for us right on through to our new album, that is just about to be released. Despite his low-key demeanor, Richie was a powerhouse; beginning in the 1960’s he worked as a producer, engineer, musician, composer and arranger for countless artists including the Monkees, the Turtles, the Electric Prunes, the Grateful Dead, Donovan, the Dillards, Chris Hillman, and Black Oak Arkansas, as well as Steppenwolf for whom Richie engineered their huge hits “Born to be Wild” and “Magic Carpet Ride”. Scores of artists, songwriters, producers and engineers have been impacted by Richie’s ideas and techniques. He was a great musician and a dear friend. Richie Podolor will be missed even as his talent still rests in the music and musicians that he touched......please react to the audio version "Woman" by Three Dog Night from their "It Ain't Easy" album.

I was born and raised in a small south Georgia town, and I recall back in my younger days we used to gather up down at the river on Friday nights, back the pick-up trucks in a circle, drop the tailgates, get a campfire going, open up the beer coolers, and dance around in the sand with this song blasting on the stereo! I first saw these guys on my eighteenth birthday in the student cafeteria at then West Georgia College now University. They played with Rick Fowler and whatever band he had there that night. I remember them saying they drove down from north Georgia and played for fifty dollars and a case of beer. That was in 1986. Two years later I saw them open for Lynyrd Skynyrd at old Atlanta Fulton co. Stadium.

Now he plays with Dan Baird & the Homemade Sin (check out their album called "Circus Life" & the song "Thousand Little Pieces"). The Georgia Sattelites still play, but without Dan Baird, they are a shadow of their former selves.

The band released 3 albums before lead singer and guitarist Dan Baird left to pursue a solo career. Dan is the one with the gap tooth. Other Georgia Sattlitws songs include: Battleship Chains Hippy Hippy Shake (from the Tom Cruise movie Cocktail) Games People Play (a Joe South cover) Don't Pass Me By (a Beatles cover) On each album contains at least one cover song. the debut contains Rod Stewart's Every Picture Tells A Story. His first solo record titled Love Songs For The Hearing Impaired - I love the title. It contains the hit I Love You Period. It also has the equally cool songsL Julie + Lucky as well as Knocked Up. After Dan left the band continues to tour with Rich Richards (lead guitar) fronting the band.
