Well 120 billion birr is the outstanding loan the bank lent from previous years still in repayment process and The 20 billion is new loan disbursed just last year in case that is not clear for you . If you listened carefully I also said banks have a loan portfolio of 1.6 Trillion by June 2024 that doesn’t mean they disbursed all that last year, Rather I mentioned there was only 150 Billion birr disbursed last year Thanks for watching

They had no enough resource to lend 14% of their outstanding loans. They were already in liquidity problem before the NBE issuing the directive.

@@abrish338 Because it is a new bank like the other 20 I didn’t mention. The loan portfolio or the asset of new banks is not yet significant in the industry if you understand. Did you know 77 % of Banking Asset belongs to only 6 banks in Ethiopia? If so you might get what I meant
