The suits were pixelated because they are the outfits of 2 characters from the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion: Rei and Asuka. They're kind of iconic so I'm guessing the studio didn't want to get sued for using the designs. By the way I'd highly recommend watching/reacting to it sometime. It's considered a cult classic. They also ripped off DBZ in the same scene with Kohei going super saiyan lol

21:10 It's censored for copyright issues, since these outfits are from Evangelion, a pretty popular anime (which is why Kohei was fanboying hard). Chisa and Aina actually kind of look like this anime's characters a bit.

The reason why Kohei was so triggered about the fact that those two were childhood friends was because he's an otaku, and many anime MCs have female chilhood friends that they eventually get into a relationship with. Kohei never had a female friend, so it pained him to see one of his friends to be in such a relationship

paraphrasing...it's used so commonly by translators by now you might forget it's literally not "translation". And every official translation suffers under it, to the point that "official" already implies half-assed effort and no honor towards the source material. Reading One Piece first in the form of fan subs and then watching reactions to the official version a few days later leaves me sitting with my head scratching literally more often than not to the point it dawned on me...these lazy fucks aren't even translating at all, they are paraphrasing the fan subs which is why pretty much every line is at least slightly different and sometimes plain wrong because of it. Note, this is not how translations from japanese should work...english speaking people might not realize that pretty much every language but english is able to be clearly translated. English grammar is a loose concept to say the least but Japanese grammar is actual grammar, so a set of rules for you to know *exactly* what message is delivered...meaning there's always a *literal* translation possible

I really love the fact they made the friendship so scummy. It makes sense cos Iori and Kohei's "friendship" with them never was a good one to begin with 😂 it makes fun of the idea of virgins being so envious of others, the creators turn the dial up to 100 where in order to be friends with these guys you cannot even have a friendship with a girl unless you present them with a girl to have as well. It takes the idea of bros before hoes to the next extreme level 😵😂 like wow how can anyone be so petty. I really wished the anime continued to another season, cos it has an arc that shows that although they're scum, there are certain lines they wouldn't cross for a girl. Manga readers know what I'm talking about.

Regarding Monogatari, i 100% recommend that anime. It is one of my fav animes, BUT is not for everyone, there is a LOT of dialogue, and the episodes center A LOT in the dialogues, it is a bit "slow" but the plot is cool, and the interaction between characters is one of the best in anime.
