Even if (nominal inflation) of non-food items decreased by the stated figure, real income of the households did not change as compared to the previous year. Today, food items inflation is the most important problem in Ethiopia. The government must work hard on the basic necessity( food items) and change in real income of the households equally. Higher interest (lending) rate ( to 15 percent :re-valuation of ETB), might discourage investment in general. It could be devaluation of FOREX indirectly also; which is likely to discourage FDI. Domestic investment (be it private or government) is expected to fill the gap to be created as a result. I do understand and appreciate that bank aimed to tackle tangible problems facing the country at this time.

Introducing such policies is crucial and good evenif The effects of such policy ll be seen upon implementation to the ground,my fear and treat is the human capital wont absorb it completely ,and i believe the sector highly lacks skilled and professional man power, poor customer service and attacked by nepotisim , after all these policies are articulated for humans by humans so that we must check their excecution standards are met to the intended objectives .
