Very good video. I would also add onto the list: know how to reset the circuit breaker in the fuse box, know where to turn off the mains water, know what to do if you smell gas, know where the gas/ electric meters are, test your fire alarms, ...the list pretty endless really as there's so much to know around the house.

Very true, its important to know where are all the switches are too, even the plumber or electrician might take sometime to figure out, especially in older houses. I guess it is something that you will pick up when u have lived in a house for a few good years.

had a boiler problem and replacement by a certified technician which cost around £2000
@bettyinmanchester3 жыл бұрын
Yeah boiler is one of the more expensive item in the house and you cannot go cheap on. Thats why it is good to keep it running as long as it can, also to minimise the chance of it breaking down during freezing winter.

1. 請問如果去了旅遊但家中 alarm 誤鳴,怎樣關閉 alarm? 2. 請問 online shopping 傢俬,怎樣的call can with men and 可否俾錢請他們幫忙搬上屋(2nd floor)? 型爸愈做愈好,解釋十分清楚。
@bettyinmanchester3 жыл бұрын
Man and a van應該都可以加錢叫佢做埋搬。

@@bettyinmanchester 其實安裝 alarm 就是這個作用,如果能遙控咪等如無用? 我想問你身邊朋友可有如此經驗? Sorry for bothering you. Thank you very much indeed.

flats are generally have lower maintenance, still its good to have some DIY skills to take care of everyday bits and bobs. But do get a dryer, its even more necessary to have one in a flat.

@@bobobbbenben123 joking aside Find a flat with a separate kitchen. Most modern flats have open kitchens. Not very good for Chinese cooking and can cause many problems. Second must have designated car parking. Otherwise you may need to fight to park your car! Thirdly be careful of fire prevention in flat, building and material used in construction. Good management ( gardening, cleaning, rubbish collections, lift service, etc.) of flats is essential. Get a house survey done by a chartered surveyor (£500) before paying deposit. Many very cheap flats that don't meet fire safety rules. Lastingly, if you can buy a freehold or leasehold sharing flat. Good luck!
how much for boiler service?? gutter cleaning service??
@bettyinmanchester3 жыл бұрын
In manchester, boiler service is about £80 plus or minus and gutter cleaning about £30, both very ball-part and depends on your needs, so it is better to call a few company to check the price. Gutter is usually done by people locally around your area, so its good to check with your neighbours which one they have used before.
