I disagree mate. Expecting everyone to drive in the left lane when there 2-4 other lanes is stupid & unrealistic. The left lane will naturally have slow drivers and will just lead to people constantly trying to overtake & overtaking is the main cause for accidents. As long as you’re not hogging up the very right lane then I don’t believe you should stay in the left most lane

Police pulled her for using Lane 3 only?! That happens all day and night on the M40 and the cops barely do anything!!! Though to be fair, I saw a police van chasing an Audi A6 the other day - mad props to that copper for giving it the beans and getting the job done. Love your videos but nothing I hate more than Lane hoggers as I drive an articulated lorry and on a 3 lane motorway we are restricted to lane one and two so if someone hogs the middle lane we can't get passed as we aren't allowed in lane three

I appreciate your wife holding her hands up to her mistake, but the worrying thing is how many more people out there think the same thing. Lane Discipline needs more policing for definite, the amount of times people sit in middle, 3rd, 4th, etc lanes when the 1st lane is empty is so infuriating it gives me the urge to undertake in the 1st lane just to prove a point to them, but its just too dangerous.

I often undertake the slow moving cars who just sit there. But they still sit there as I look back on my mirror. Wouldn’t do it with a Lorry, although as a Lorry driver I get many who do undertake me

Yianni, they would have checked insurance details etc before they even pulled you over. They would have known who the insured parties were, therefore checking her driving licence would confirm that she was the person they already knew was insured on the car. He was also correct that driving in the middle lane can cause other traffic to go around you or potentially undertake, sitting in the middle lane when the inside lane is clear is an offence under the Road Traffic Act + the amount of vehicles that are stolen using technology to bypass a keyless car is huge. A high end car in a different colour out late at night will attract attention. Imagine if your car had been stolen and thanks to the traffic officers awareness he managed to catch that person and return your car to you, you would be over the moon. As frustrating as it can be sometimes being pulled by the police, he didn’t fine you he gave you words of advice and made sure that who was driving the car was either the Registered keeper or one of the insured parties. The fact he only looked at your wife’s driving licence doesn’t mean he hadn’t done all background checks first. There were probably other units in the area ready to join in support had it not been you or your wife driving. A single crewed Officer is massively at risk, so everything is done in advance before lighting you up

An officer will ask for a vehicle check on PNC and control will run the details through most of the time when they are sat behind the vehicle, unless the air is busy of course. We then recieve warning markers etc after identifying known drivers, then we can decide if single crew is suitable, otherwise I like to have another unit assist ideally RPU rather than LPT which are notorious to call up on air for a FTS to then have it unauthorised by the INSP- this is just from experience XD

Very naive! Yes, they would have already checked your insurance even before they pulled you over. It's all done online. All they need is the number plate, then they can check what policy is on that vehicle and who is on that policy. However, the primary reason for pulling you over would be because of the poor lane etiquette and secondly because the colour did not match the vehicle. The 'probably' though they might get lucky with a drink or drugs driver, but that was obviously not going to happen with the pair of you.

When you're driving down a single carriageway do you just drive in the middle of the road? or drive 6 feet away from the curb? And yet when these people get onto any road with more than 1 lane they think it's right of acceptable to just sit in the middle of the road. He’d have had to of had one look at your Mrs driving license and he’d have seen the name matched the named driver on the policy he’d previously checked…. Tbf these days they have the tech to see who’s insured on a car without you handing over everything, once they can verify who she is then they know she’s insured from the data they’ve already got. Can hold it against them for checking you out when you’re driving incorrectly and your car colour doesn’t match, so no point giving them a hard time

Trade policies will show limitations of insurance or not like "only drivers over 25 years old" or "any driver"... which would suggest exactly who was covered to drive the vehicle... The motor insurance bureau also hold trade certificate details that police can refer to for identification of any named drivers on trade policies. So yes, they would know before they even stopped the vehicle.

So many people think the same about the motorway lanes you here that a lot! I think once you past you driving test you should be made to have 1 FACT learning driving lesson on the motorway, no pass or fail just a learning lesson how to use one right. Also I do think there should be a driving refresher course every 5 or 10 years just to educate and knock out bad habits picked up. Also so many people get Roundabouts Wrong and use the wrong lanes, again refresher would help rule out such issues.

My biggest hate , lane discipline like sitting in fast lane at 60-75mph , use your rear view mirror and move over , don't do things your not built for or don't have the capacity/ability stick to the first lane and cutting corners at turns junctions etc
