Now this is one cool video. The shots are amazing, truly, the panning makes for some fresh angles, and the smooth frame rate just adds to it. Neat drivers have made for some good sounding footage, and the Y looks like its in its habitat. The shot at 0:00 makes for a nice opening shot and watching the TR was cool, the best shot was for sure at 2:40, the nice lighting only improved this video, no clouds, no rain, pure sunlight. the panning at 5:22 was just awesome, amazing, outstanding. at 3:08 it was cool watching the train go away, rounding the bend, awesome!! The Y is sure amazing. One question, do you know what happened to the whistle at 5:30, it didn't sound normal. Other than that this was a great video, really enjoyed watching and I will share it on, I thought that you could maybe film the Weka Pass Railway before A428 is out. And maybe if JA1271 comes back to Auckland you could film that. Outstanding. Amazing. Good work dude! P.s. Why haven't they repainted the TR shunter? Also, when they use the F (seen at 8:50 ) you could film that, that would make for a cool video. I also like the car wagon right behind Y542, nice! Also, whats the point in using the TR shunter for the shunt? Why not use the Y? Great work dude!

Thank you! Glad you liked the video! I would love to film A428 on the Weka Pass Railway but unfortunately, it's quite a while away. Especially because I live in the North Island and the Weka Pass Railway is in the South Island. Although I wish it would happen again but it is unlikely Ja1271 will be coming up to Auckland again anytime soon. Also I believe there are plans to repaint the TR at the Western Springs Railway. And yes, I also do have plans to film the F running at Motat's annually live steam day this year where they run all of their locos and wagons/carriages. Thanks again!

@@rikisimeti7955 I like that the panning makes this video so much better, here are some reasons why: Increased Visual Interest: Panning shots can help to break up the monotony of a still shot, adding visual interest and keeping the viewer engaged. By moving the camera, you can draw the viewer's attention to specific details or elements within the shot, such as a moving object or a scenic background. Conveys Motion: Panning shots can convey a sense of motion or direction. This is particularly useful when shooting action scenes, where you want to follow the movement of the subject. Panning can also be used to show the scope of a landscape or environment, providing a sense of scale and depth. Creates Emphasis: By moving the camera, you can emphasize specific parts of a shot or scene. For example, you might pan from one person to another during a conversation, highlighting the speaker at any given moment. This can help to focus the viewer's attention and create a sense of narrative. Provides a Cinematic Look: Panning shots are commonly used in films and other cinematic productions, which gives them a cinematic look and feel. This can add a professional touch to your video, making it feel more polished and refined. Overall, panning shots can add a sense of movement, interest, and emphasis to your videos. While still shots can also be useful in certain situations, panning shots are often preferred for their ability to convey motion and create a cinematic look. Also, I like how to whistle changes tones over the day, that is truly awesome. Also, the sunlight makes for an amazing lighting situation. Sunlight can be good for videos for several reasons: Natural Lighting: Sunlight provides natural lighting that can enhance the look of a video. Natural light is generally considered more flattering than artificial light, as it provides a softer and more even illumination. It can also create interesting shadows and contrast, which can add depth and visual interest to a video. Vibrant Colors: Sunlight can bring out the natural colors of a scene, making them look more vibrant and true to life. This is particularly useful for outdoor scenes, where the colors of nature can really pop under bright sunlight. Cost-Effective: Sunlight is a free source of light, making it a cost-effective option for video production. This is especially useful for independent filmmakers or those working on a tight budget. Versatile: Sunlight can be used to create a variety of moods and effects in a video. For example, shooting during the golden hour (the hour after sunrise or before sunset) can create a warm, romantic look, while shooting in direct sunlight can create a bright, energetic vibe. High Quality: Sunlight is a high-quality source of light, with a high color rendering index (CRI). This means that it can accurately render colors and details, creating a high-quality image that looks sharp and professional. Overall, sunlight can be a great choice for video production, providing natural lighting, vibrant colors, cost-effectiveness, versatility, and high quality. However, it is important to be aware of the potential challenges of shooting in sunlight, such as harsh shadows and overexposure, and to adjust your camera settings accordingly. Nice work.

Thanks Jamie, you should! The railway is less than a kilometer long so it's quite easy to get to spots along the railway.

This is better than rather nice. I'm not familiar with New Zealand railways, so it makes a nice thing to see something 'new'. What's the engine?

Thanks. If I recall correctly then this loco is one of three of the Y class (542, 543, 544). And 542 is the only one of the three still around today.
