@MIDDO As someone who destroyed their back working manual labor jobs, you don't "learn to ignore it". It isn't like being a bit sore for a couple days after some yard work where popping a couple ibuprofen or a beer takes the edge off. It's an everyday struggle. Often times patients are left with debilitating pain that even high doses of opiates cannot touch, leaving them unable to function, walk or enjoy any real quality of life. I spent over two years in constant, 24/7 excruciating pain and being unable to walk on my own. Many days I contemplated putting a shotgun in my mouth because feel good types didn't believe people actually felt pain and benefitted from painkillers and greedy doctors only saw me as dollar signs and knew I was far more valuable as a patient than healed. Now I am semi mobile, but I'll never be able to run or get down on the ground and play with my children or even stand for more than a short time without injuring myself.

Doing it in a more controlled setting would probably be better but there is a reason why people who work farms don't have as much problem bending over as people who have a desk job. And probably why he has that level of dexterity in the first place.

That first one is a perfect example of the skill and athleticism that is required to be a pro wrestler. Sure it's simulated violence, but one wrong move can literally be the end. Kids and inexperienced average Joes regularly injure or kill others trying to mimic these moves. Those men and women that dedicate their lives to sports entertainment (the official name for pro wrestling) wind up sacrificing their long-term health to put on shows for their fans, and spend 40+ weeks a year on the road, at their own expense. They have no union representation, no health insurance, and no sort of organized retirement plan in place. Most insurers wont even cover them, due to the nature of their profession. It's actually quite sad how most of these folks turn out, considering what they give to entertain their fans.

I have to say, much as I don't enjoy watching wrestling, the physical aspect of their job is so demanding, and they're actively trying NOT to kill the other person. I basically call it extreme theatre, and it requires talent. At the right angle, you'd think she took a serious blow, but the only physical contact was soft contact. And this was in a controlled situation, the matches add an unstable element and they have to be laser focused to make sure they don't permanently injure each other. Not a fan, but I have respect for it.
