my friend was proposed to in public, after a long hike. her hair was a mess, the whole hiking group was coated in sweat, mud and dead bugs. she and her partner had talked about getting married in a few years, but she had always been clear it wasn't high on her priority list and she wanted to wait. she said yes in public and then talked to him to reject the proposal afterwards. The Disney employee got fired and the park made an apology to the couple. Technically they weren't supposed to be on the stage as it was for the actors, but they had asked and were told it was okay. Generally staff let it happen and then guide the couple off the restricted area. However this particular employee was not having a bar. Not only that, but he also took the ring which is their property and strictly forbidden, so no wonder he got fired. Not to mention it was a douchey thing to do.

Sadly, I can relate to the rose petal gal. Back when my boyfriend and I first started living together, I came home to find an elaborate series of written clues that I had to solve. I was getting more and more excited as I solved each clue, looking forward to the big romantic reveal. The second last clue took me to the bathroom, where there was a note on the toilet seat that said, "Don't open". So of course I opened the lid and inside was the biggest "log" I have ever seen in my life. He said it was so big it wouldn't flush down. I wish I was kidding. :)
