Consistently being the #1 option for your entire career (Lebron led his team in scoring 19 out 20 seasons) 3. Playing on some pretty average to bad teams to get extra shots. 4. Longevity (20+ season’s minimum) 5. Durability (guys are barley playing 65 games nowadays and there’s a solid chance they shorten the amount of regular season games) 6. Here's why: - He came into the league younger than most other players (18 yo) - In his 20th season, he averages 28 ppg while the few other 20 year vets haven't even cracked 20 ppg - Injuries and load management were not as prevalent for most of his career - In the 77 NBA seasons, only two players have even gotten past 37,000 points. and they both have over 38,000 points. - He's not done: for each additional year, he'll probably score close to 1470 ppgs (average points per season over his last 3 seasons)

The thing about LeBron's record is players aren't coming in fresh out of high school any more. So you're talking about players automatically starting with one less season than him, being able to score at the consistency of him, and having his longevity on top of that.
