If you watch martial artists warm up. Most of them do the twist and arm swing as a warm up. Or variations. It's not a technique it's a drill and warm up exercise. Except in movie fu.

I mean, Daniel saw how Cobra Kai treated Robby in the tournament, then saw Johnny with Kreese, Daniel has this idea that Johnny would be a bad influence (which isn't exactly incorrect now with Kreese there) and although Johnny is trying to be better, he isn't ready to be a father and not to say, for what we know, Johnny wasn't a father before to Robby. Daniel might be over stepping but he is doing it for a good intention, to protect Robby.

This Cobra Kai TV series is about spiritual warfare, started with the demon magician miagi. Miagi do is powerful evil !magic using spirits from around nature and confused Daniel into obsessing over Cobra Kai, ruining his life and business. Miagido is powerful, looks silly, but the real power is the demonic stuff that can't be seen. It is powered up by training in other areas like the woods, beach or japan. Cobra Kai is mostly physical, but still evil as well, causing aggression. The real battle is the spirit of each karate form fighting over The Valley. Daniel is the victim of spiritual possession, notice in this series how after he visits the grave of miagi that he begins karate again. This series is all about the evil spirit behind the physical.
