Jumping onto your reply to say: Referring to why Falin's chimera dragon form has feathers, the author basically said it's because dragon's are descendants of dinosaurs in this world (some of which had feathers). So Falin's and the dark elf's combined use of dark magic that fused Falin with the remains of the dragon basically tapped into an ancient part of the dragon DNA to have feathers.

This episode is probably my favorite in the series, and it's a large reason why so many autistic people (including me) relate to Laios so much. The entire fight between Shuro and Laios mirrors many experiences autistic people have when it comes to struggling to see how you come across to other people

Nah Marcille and Laios just wanted to bring Falin back in the only way they could at the moment. And for the Lunatic Magician, they only wanted the Dragon to continue looking for the king. The only reason that I can think of as to why Falin was turned was because she's a mix of Dragon meat and Black Magic in the eyes of the Magician, so basically just the dragon they created in a human form. So not intentionally Marcille's fault but, still kinda is, yeah

The forbidden/ancient magic is forbidden for a reason, but in this particular case the problem was not caused by Marcille's magic or by using monster flesh. As the show explains, monster souls are not supposed to stay linked to their corpses, but the most important monsters of the lunatic magician have a similar spell as the one that affects human soul. Something that nobody knew until this point. Marcille's actions had consecuences but that was not because of the kind of magic or flesh she used, it was because there was a spell in play she didn't know about

If you look at it from the eyes of the characters, none of them actually saw the Magician turn Falin into that. So obviously they'd suspect Marcille's Black Magic to be the cause. And as for the fact that Falin turned into that; the dragon belongs to the Lunatic Magician. Marcille used the meat from it and changed it's shape into Falin. So the Magician just took it's dragon back and changed its form again. Wasn't intentionally her fault, and there was nothing else they could've done in time to save her but, she's not out of the guilt equation

prefer thighs honestly. Much more usable meat and less connective tissue to work around. Wings are also good but just not much meat relative to other pieces, but have a nice mix of both dark and white meat. Dislike breast. It's ok sometimes but it's normally way too dry unless you brine it. Legs are about on the same level as wings, they're good but not as much meat as thighs.

The main reason of conflict between Laios and Shuro is Shuro expects Laios to act according to customs and decorum that is straight up outside of his wheelhouse. Laios and Kaburu are both autism-spectrum-coded but they are polar opposites of one another. Laios is educated and outspoken about his interest in monsters to a fault, but speaks his mind with little awareness of how other “humans” perceive his actions. Kaburu knows the social mind games of mankind inside and out, but folds like cheap laundry to monsters because he can’t understand them. Kaburu is so fascinated by Laios because he’s a rare breed of human that Kaburu cannot understand. Last episode he thought Laios’ invitation to try monster food was a hazing tactic so he went along with it but bro was just happy to share his interests with Kaburu 😭. Bottom line is, the authoress of this manga is the fucking GOAT.

lore bit on shuro reception to dark magic. this isnt 100% confirmed by the author but fans noticing the islands he is from. dark magici n past was used for war to the point it cuased massive damaged to the land to even shatter them. the islands looked like they were shattered then split off or formed on their own. with the lords governing the islands guessing they are aware of old records of dark magic wars that scarred their original homeland so their laws are strict when it comes to dark magic use. especially someone gonan revealed with another character later in the show that im not gonna reveal yet.
