I think the biggest flaw is that they wrote Hughie to seemingly not care at all. It’s just a joke with him saying they had sex around 20 times and that she “mostly” initiated it. Then there’s the whole fist bump thing after she implies she’ll sleep with him again. It just portrays the shitty idea that guys must always be into sex and this whole thing was framed more as cheating.

What's interesting about her character is that she has so much factual knowledge and retention that it impedes on her empathy which is also a core part of thinking. It's not common in London or the "proper" way of speaking the Queens English but you'll find a lot of people up north who will speak like that. That window is closing fast and I'm leaning towards them just treating it poorly in comparison to how they treated Starlight's incident.

When you are unhappy with yourself and suffer with problems regarding your self esteem, which Annie clearly does, you often don't feel enough for your partner. And you can be very unfair, especially since in this case none of it is Hughie's fault and she made a situation that was just as bad for him only about herself. Because she believed that Hughie only enjoys the "perfect version" of her without the flaws the real her has. It's not really about sex. Also I absolutely love how Hughie stayed calm and cared for her when he needed it just as much. I hope he gets a good time next Season ❤️

Starlight was depressed for the majority of the season. With the appearance of Firecracker, her public image being ruined, having responsibility for the starlighters, loosing her powers and getting a whole abortion. For which she got tons of crap from her mom and the public. She explicitly says that she doesn't want to bring anyone in to the world that is ending. She gets kidnapped for 10 days and the closest person to her doesn't notice anything, especially when the first thing that the shapeshifter does is put on Starlight's old costume to sleep with Hughie when Annie LITERALLY said she hates the suit. If that happened to you, you would be 100% more angry than her.

Both options are pretty dumb honestly, but This episode very clearly showed that there is no time left, and there are no good options left to put a stop to this. That is why butcher gives in to his parasite.
