I love how smug AFO is. "Oh. I knew those comics had a different ending than the one I wanted. So I simply decided to stop reading." During his speech to Yoichi back in S5, he said he would simply remake reality if he didn't like it. But when he got his hands on a quirk that could basically remake reality, it quite literally blew up in his face. And Shigaraki's. Speaking of which, it seems to be even harder to tell the distinction between who is currently in the driver's seat. Because at one moment we see AFO thinking back on his own memories with Yoichi. But a few seconds earlier we saw Shigaraki say, "I can control decay now" and he thinks back on his fight in S6 when he woke up. It just shows how much AFO and Shigaraki have melded together. Which is honestly pretty scary. As we saw in this episode, Shigaraki basically has a nasty combo. He can immediately steal someone's quirk and then decay them once he's done. And his regeneration isn't anything to play with either. He went from having no hair and looking like bacon that had gotten a bit too burnt to perfectly fine in a few seconds. Star went out with a smile though. She understood that it was over the moment her face was grabbed. So she already had a contingency ready. A way to destroy Shigaraki from the inside out. Also, this is the second time AFO has made fun of someone for not being alive. Savage. Star gave everything to buy the world just a little more time. Because All Might inspired her on that day. Rest in peace, Cathleen Bate. She left Shigaraki and AFO with one final message. That as long as someone inherited the will of a hero, they would be struck down. And inside the mass of Shigaraki and AFO, we see Tenko Shimura think of Midoriya.

that back and forth between AFO and shiggy, in my experience, made this whole arc very difficult to read and to know which is talking and operating at any given moment in the manga, so i appreciate how it's so much easier in the anime to just hear each voice actor or when they meld together

I love these fights. She beats him twice. She touched him said his name but didn't know wtf was going on, she dies but wins the confrontation. You can't get this quirk and no one else either. Raises the stakes with her death as well. Also the subs didn't help with how the mechanics of transferring it works. The transfer is a quirk, therefore new order would not act according to it. Again oppose other quirks. Shigaraki/AFO only option to keep new order would be to have new order destroy all his quirks and just keep new order.

The way I saw it, Star said New Order will oppose other quirks. So when shigiraki tried to give someone the quirk he was using all for one, so the only way for New Order to oppose all for one would be to disappear. Cause part of All for One is being able to pass on quirks, so yeah New Order erased itself to avoid being passed on to someone. At least thats how I understood it.

Her quirk is OP, but compared to a quirk that can steal and store EVERY QUIRK in one person, of course she is weaker. She also has limitations. If it was another villain, ordering air would be enough to defeat them, but obviously not for Shigaraki with 172737 quirks he has. One of the fastest way to defeat him is by touching him, calling out his name, and ordering him to die, which she did, but it failed because she didn't know Shigaraki's real name. She has to call out the name of the objects she touches to be able to put new rules, but for people, she must know their names to activate it.

Yea, Star & Stripe is such a frustratingly amazing character, due to how Horikoshi made such a cool character, but gave her not only a broken Quirk, but honestly made her a Plot Device for a situation that really didn’t even need to happen. Also, I think you're wrong about New Order disappearing forever, Roshi. If it really was the case that New Order just disappeared on its own, why would it do that without finishing its job of opposing other Quirks? That's the very reason why Shigaraki/AFO had to pass it on soon as possible, because if not, he'd lose all his Quirks. Obviously he's not Quirkless at the end there.
