I think it's more the shock of it all. His WHOLE existence was based on doing anything, always, at any point, to capture the Avatar. He then had a real opportunity to do something seemingly substantial in that quest, but didn't do it. That is a drastic 180 decision from where he was at that point. He did the act, but didn't comprehend why he did it, and it left him in shock. But yeah, you can still see it as being a funny. But it makes more sense to me when I think of it as him being in shock at him acting in a way completely out of sync with his desired at the time (get his honor back, be a prince again, etc.)

the whole scene with Zuko is actually real stuff. i'm Navajo, a Native tribe in the Southwest United States, & we got Medicine Men or Shamen that help people with their sicknesses. in some cases, when a person wants to change, they can make themselves sick like that, & in some cases they can die from it. the reason why is because your mind does not want to change, but your body wants to. so your body starts to fight with your mind, trying to over come each other. like you are trying to force an unwanted or bad person out of your home. this is what it means to be in conflict, or be at war, with yourself. some people don't need to do much to change. for some people, it takes a lot to change. our minds are very fragile, & can easily be influenced. but your body already knows, & it is more diffilcult to influence. much love. ❤

The Gaang storming the palace was just amazing and honestly shows just how powerful of a team they are when they're together! *After beating the shit out of everyone* "SORRY" 😂 What Zuko was going through is what happens to your mind when something you know to be truth, or something you fully believe in is drastically challenged. What he decided to do under Lake Laogai and afterwards when he discarded his "mask" (basically him going against everything that he is) caused a mental backlash. Aside from Asian cultures usually emphasizing heavily on philosophy and spirituality, this can actually happen in real life when a person gets sick because they were under a huge amount of stress from life-changing events. And of course Sokka jinxed it all lol. Shit's guaranteed to hit the fan now that Azula's in the picture.

Zuko got sick because for his whole life, every time he did the morally right thing he got punished for it. He stood up to the general at the war meeting in favor of the soldiers these higher-ups were willing to sacrifice, he got beaten (his burn arguably resembles a hand; it's safe to assume he just bitch-slapped his own son and burn him alive in front of an audience) and burned by his father and banished. He decided to trust his sister, he and his uncle were almost captured and probably killed. He sided with team Avatar for a brief moment, re-unite with his uncle, and stand up to Azula and his uncle almost died. He blames what happened to his mother on himself, even though he's not really sure what exactly happened. His body didn't know what to do, like it was preparing for something to happen to him, and he basically had a panic attack. Also, this is unrelated, but I just love the Earth King. His daughter was an absolute cunt and she deserved to die (Legend of Korra spoilers, I guess; maybe she didn't deserve to die like "that", but I don't know), but I love the king. He genuinely seems like a good person and wanted what's best for his people. He even wanted to know more about his people to help them. He just has arguably the best relationship out of any Earth King or Queen with any Avatar (I don't know how Roku was with the king/queen of his time, but Kyoshi and Korra went "fuck that bitch, I don't kneel to tyrants"). Also he loves animals and trusts Bosco's judgement and that's just such a pet-owner thing to do.

The difference between her and Zuko is that she was raised by her father to be a War Machine without emotions and that she didn't have someone like Iroh to guide her. im telling you this not to justify her actions, she is still a horrible person, but that doesn't mean that we can't understand where she's coming from and why she ended up like that.

I don't emotionally attach myself to these notions. I don't dislike characters because they're villains, and vice versa I don't like heroes because they're heroes. I like good villains and good heroes. That being said, I like Azula and she's a great character, however for the title "greatest villain", I would say Zuko. Especially considering Azula's point of existence is mainly for Zuko's development. Now if we don't count Zuko as a villain, than yes I definitely agree. In fact, I see Zuko vs Azula as the true final fight of the series, especially considering the Lion Turtle cop-out Aang did.4

So the blue dragon represents Zuko being blinded by what the fire nation has done and basically ignoring what has been happening. Letting the crown swallow him up and being submissive. “Sleeping on the job” as it were. The red dragon represents change and acknowledge what is going on around him. Being his true self and not following the fire nation blindly. (At least that is what I think I have seen people say in the past and I think I finally understand it better now)

This is the first time in the series a battle takes place at the beginning of a chapter. This also happens two more times The earthbending move that Aang performs in the beginning of the episode in which he pushes the ground up in small square pillars under the king's guards was the same one he used in "The Avatar State". It is also a move that can be used by an earthbender player in the nick.com game, Legends of the Arena. The headdress that Azula wore along with her Kyoshi Warrior disguise belonged to Suki herself.

If you think about it, Zuko getting some type of stress induced fever isn't that far fetched. He's been pursuing one single-minded goal for three years straight through hell and high water; giving up the bison was like giving up the goal- something he's not even sure was the right thing to do, just the practical thing in the moment. Top that with him being a firebender, whose bending is powered by his drive and ambition, that could seriously mess him up internally.

I’ve watched this series like four times and consumed so much fan analysis of it, but I just realized for the first time that part of the reason Azura and her girls were able to get in so easily was because the Gaang gave the Kyoshi Warriors such a glowing recommendation.
