One of the sexiest line in ham radio, the FT102is really looking great still today! I don't own one unfortunately but I know that the main thing to check first are the relays in this one. Thanks for the video! 👍

Thankyou for that, very interesting. I have had my 102 for 35 years, relays replaced and two of the 6164B's as i popped two trying to tune a 3 ele beam but, it's running just fine right now.

One of my favourites, relays are usually a pain, if you change them make sure to do the "DC bias" mod so that they do not fail again. If the station seems deaf check the dual gate mosfets, had one that was "semi dead".

I was lucky enough to find a nice one i bought with the am/fm board. Now I can drive my amp supply LK-550 with 3 3-500z's to full power!

How would you compare the Yaesu FT-102 to the Kenwood TS-830S? I have a couple of Kenwoods, a TS-820S and a TS-830S, and was thinking of getting one of these as well. My newer radios are Yaesu's, so I was thinking of getting a Yaesu hybrid as well. Thanks for your video!

I'm looking at one that has the relays sticking. If I can get it cheap enough I want to fix it and get it back on the air.

Great! There was a guy asking 1k for one of these just because it had AM board and 11m mod and all of that crap and realignment lol I wouldn’t ever pay 1k for this!
