Good video. Im guessing you are after a dx or contesting profile with the mids boosted on a narrow bandwidth. For casual ragchew the settings would change. Audio is very subjective. Thanks for the show!

I appreciate your video showing that you can use the menu without having to touch screen . No one explains this . I have a few questions if you can help me ? I have a ic7300 only the RF gain and the att is very poor i can't get the radio to quiet down , i understand this is a common problwith SDR type radio ? However a few hams i talk to assures me the yaesu FT710 is different and you can quieten it right down just like a dx10 hybrid or superhet radio ? Is this true ? I have a xiegu g90 sdr which goes somewhat quiet but not completely to my satisfaction? Any feedback would be welcome. Rob MM0UDI . 73 .

Is there a way to use the rig to record yourself so you can hear how the changes make you sound?

There is a monitor function so you can hear yourself after changes to the audio

Use some headphones and turn the monitor on to a high level, that way you can hear yourself really well. If you don't use headphones you risk your mic catching the speaker sound

That function control knob is poor quality and I could see if fail as flimsy as it is.

In what you base this comment? I have this radio and have no problems with any buttons. Plus i can use a mouse to control almost everything
