Decided to do a test run of the Yaesu FT-100 that I picked up on eBay that turned out to be a bit of a basket case. This radio when I got it, did not match the description that was listed with it (not uncommon when people are just selling estates and don't know what they actually are selling), but it also had some issues, after getting the seller to agree to a discount, and sending it out for repair I decided to take it out for a bit of a trial run to see what kind of radio it was. Matched up with the DX Commander Expedition antenna while out at Richard Bong State Recreation area located in South East Wisconsin, I was able to put a total of 129 QSO's in the log in just over an hour, including one to Northern Ireland!
All in all I would say that this might have been an okay investment, time will tell though, I just need to take it out to some more activations.
