This video shows you how to make this deceptively simple but really oishii (delicious) recipe Yaki Onigiri (pan fried rice balls) in Ochazuke.
This delicious Yaki Onigiri in Ochazuke recipe is contributed by my friend, Yumiko Nikaidou from Japan.
Yaki Onigiri in Ochazuke translates as pan fried Japanese rice balls in soup. The rice balls are easy to make and the soup is made from a Japanese stock which has a unique flavour - it's full of what the Japanese call "umami" the fifth flavour.
Yumiko make the stock herself in this recipe but if you are pushed for time, you could always use an instant stock (although for the abolsute best taste, I suggest you follow this recipe!)
