Daigo wanted the money because he wanted to abandon the tojo clan and start over. he believed it would give him freedom from the burden hes been placed with. munukata wanted the money because he thought his secret prison plan would free japan from organized crime, and make him filthy rich at the same time. all four bosses were doing something selfish because they convinced themselves it would give them the freedom they wanted, and the MC's jobs is to prove to them it wouldnt.
