Kiryu said he wasn’t mad that Yuta got Haruka pregnant or that he hid that he was Haruto’s father (Though I have a feeling that Kiryu was furious about both of those things, because that punch just felt personal). Even still, Yuta clearly cares and loves Haruka and Haruto. It’s just…how the hell would you respond if you were told all at once that your childhood friend and your boss’s boss were both spying on you since day one, you are the heir to a powerful mafia, you got a girl you had sex with one time pregnant which ultimately destroyed her life, and the same kid you’ve been taking care of on and off for a few weeks or so is actually your spawn? How the hell is a guy supposed to handle all that at once. Especially handling the fact that the girl he loves and his own son had their lives ruined and endangered by the same organization that he is the heir to and that his father runs…I’d have trouble standing at that point.

I mean, he nearly achieved fatherhood twice with Yumi, then Kaoru. But of course, one was taken away from him and another has to go on her separate way in her journey, and by the looks of how many Yakuza entries span since her departure, doesn’t seem like she’ll be coming back. Anyway, it’s all thanks to Haruka giving him a new meaning towards life after losing his old family. Same goes for the kids at the orphanage he raised with the help of Haruka being the eldest sister to Kiryu’s new family. They all taught him the value of being a great father figure and what it means to put his life on the line for them.
