Regarding their tattoos, I also want to think of it as Nishki's Koi transforming into a dragon, which Ichi has. And I also want to think that the director intended Nishiki's original voice actor to have Ichi's role because of these things. I would definitely like to see Kiryu and Ichi teaming up on the next installments someday, and I would like to think that it will be an homage to when Nishki is still alive.

Ichiban’s tattoo has the most interesting story behind it in my opinion. The tattoo artist used Kiryu’s tattoo and Nishikiyama’s tattoo and put them together to make the Ichiban’s Dragoncarp.

I can feel really Nishiki been reincarnated and starting from the bottom as Kasuga. I already finish this game and for me, its a chef kiss. All the way to the end, Kasuga able to make us laugh and cry. He's truly become Kiryu's true successor. Today my cat almost cooked himself alive, long story short he got stuck in the chimney with the lit fire underneath and no one was around to hear his weak meows but me after some time has passed i turned off the heater (looks like logs but its a gas heater lmao) and grabbed the hot metal plate ontop of the fire with my bare hands, ripped it off so my cat could breathe and i could try to pull him out of there after 10 minutes of burning my shoulders trying to reach him up there and my hands feeling around the fucking hot bricks, i grabbed an umbrella and shoved it in there, somehow hooking my cat and pulling it down slowly, when i felt his meows close enough i reach in there again and grabbed his neck, i pulled him out and i felt like a hero. how does this tie into this song? I'm the most fucking useless person, but damn, i saved my friends life from a horrible death with nothing but an umbrella, after taking him to the vet and now resting a little my mind put two things together, the word "hero" and the umbrella right there infront of me, Kasuga wants to be a hero and he would totally use an umbrella to get shit done, also Namba uses one! Kasuga and his friends actually changed me as a person and it helped me push through the pain just to help, not only help, save my boy's life, and i couldn't call the fire department, i wanted to act, even if it hurt like a bitch...also what if they got here late? i'd be crying right now. "I'll rise up to be the coolest and strongest hero in the world" and damn, today felt like one of those quests that takes a lot of mental effort, but the payback is so sweet, i feel great and i'm so happy my boy is still alive after his dumb ass got INTO THE LIT CHIMNEY this is so cringe but so true, thanks for reading

I was kinda off and on about ichiban, i thought he was cool and everything but the fact that the battle system changed to a turnbased system rather than my perfered choice of dynamic combat the rest of the series had due to his dragon quest addiction stopped me from loving him. The final cutscenes rendered all of that completely null, and i ended up loving this guy more than i have any Yakuza protagonist, and I thought that'd be impossible since Akiyama was so enjoyable. Combined with this genuinely amazing karaoke song that showcases parts of his life as a kid and now I'm extremely excited for yakuza 8 and want nothing more than to help people out as Ichiban again... so long as encounter rate is lowered just a bit

I think if they go back to the y0 battle system they’ll replace switching styles with switching characters because unlike Kiryu who’s an one man army, kasuga relies a lot more on his friends so it’s only natural they’ll emphasize on that with gameplay
