This video gives a run down on how to delete the oil injections system on your Yamaha 115hp 2-stroke outboard motor. If you have a failed component in your oil injection system you can remove the oil injection system and pre-mix your fuel.

I have a 1993 20hp and I was going to do the full delete but after looking at my system and yours I might just put all new fuel and oil lines on it. My lines are rock hard and ready to crack. Early 90s Japanese stuff is pretty nice. I can see an argument for both deleting it and leaving at stock. Thanks for the follow up video. I know some people in these comments sections can be brutal. Haha

With proper maintenance this system doesn't usually fail. Oil injected carbs usually have different jet sizes than non injected ones. The oil injected carbs are jet'ed for gas only mixture and when you add oil to the mixture, you change the weight of the fuel. On Yamaha oil injection, the oil is never mixed with the fuel before entering the carbs. That's why Yamahas have less problems with carbs gumming up when they sit. I tried removing the system but I ended up going back to it, I'd rather keep it on than remove it but to each his own.

Hey brother so I am planning on doing that this weekend, I was out on the water today and alarm started going off, looks like my level was getting little low on engine reservoir I trim the motor up and alarm went away was able to get home. Looks like not getting from main tank into engine tank, anyways I have wanted to delete the precision blend since I got the boat years ago I’m always worried about it.. can you tell me what you did with the wires once you did the delete so the alarm does not go off.. thanks brother. Great video..

Bwhind that arm in pump, theres a small round brass cap? Is that removed aswell?

Unfortunately if you do not remove the oil pump and remove the worm gear that drives the pump it will eventually destroy the bottom bearing in the motor. It will take some but it will happen. Otherwise great video.

I always remove all internals including shaft in block reinstall pump and vacum cap everything

i picked up a deck boat with a 1996 115 yamaha . Did some of these come with out oil injection ?

Can I just simply put pre-mixed fuel (50:1) in the oil tank so that I do not have to go through all these?

Yes you can mix on top with the oil injection hooked up I do and my Yamaha 115 2 stroke runs like a dream

What about the oil alarm how you get that to work so the motor don't go into limp mode?

Jose you dont because your pre mixing so your always getting 50:1

@@JoseJimenez-os4nq you'll need to jump the oil level sensor ... should be for (v4 white - black) (v6 white/blue - black)

The Yamaha oil injection system is actually much more reliable than the OMC VRO system. If you maintain it. Doesn't look like that motor got much maintaining in its life.

What was the primary reason for removing it? Just playing it safe? The Yamaha oil injection is one of the most reliable systems out there. Not very complex and very easy to maintain and repair. Unless its beyond repair I would never remove it. The benefits using the oil injection it that it uses way less oil than pre-mixing resulting in a cleaner burn, longer plug life, faster starts, better economy and way less smoke! Most overlooked items is the filter underneath the boat mounted oil tank which requires the tank to be removed to replace and the replacement of the oil lines(before they deteriorate). They may look good but they don't last forever. Somewhere I have a pamphlet that has theory and schematic which eases trouble shooting.

Hi T Cap: I'm about to buy a 18 footer CC with a 1999 Yamaha V4 115 Carb and the owner made this "deletion" . I've seen the reservoir is still mounted to the engine. I rather go with what the Yamaha engineers designed and wonder if you can tip me on how to reverse the deletion and reinstall the original system. I would have no problem with the mechanics nor with the expense to put it back to work, not a pro mechanic here but very handy. Anything you can share I will appreciate. Best.

@@carlosceka You'll need to look and see how far the "delete" process went. Linkage, Pump and shaft, oil lines, wire harness, alarm buzzer and main oil tank with transfer pump. You can google the system to see the components and theory of operation to get an understanding of how it works which will aide with the build and trouble shooting. You will need to premix until the system is complete and can confirm its using oil.

How did you get that little brass fitting out are they not pressed in there im deleting mine to run mixed on mine but cant seem to get that brass fitting out i can see it with my scope worried obout it dropping in the motor

I got the shaft out fine but there is a brass fitting way in there where it rides on does that just stay in there

Not the gear but a collar fitting the shaft goes into way in there...lol

Regardless of the manufacturer , always remove the oil injection as soon as it comes off warranty. The company will not fix your motor if and when the oil injection fails and it will fail(some sooner than others) If the shaft (not being removed) would have caused damage whether or not the tank was removed or not. If the shaft(not being removed) would have failed anyway and seized the motor

Why would you even do that Yamaha is a world's difference from Johnson evinrude smh ruined that engine I have the same engine serviced yearly used for my 18ft crestliner the carbs and engine uses specific amounts from idle to high speed 😮

Yeah, I don't get it. I know numerous people including myself who have owned multiple Yamaha oil injected outboards as well as quads, and not once has the system failed. Yamaha and most Japanese outboards in general are built to last.
