You can always remove the trim rod (tilt pin) while in shallow waters keeping the tilt lock lever in the down (lock) position. This way the outboard can be raised up and down without getting locked. Just ride slow and watch out from engine rising out of water while in reverse.

I don't think they sell this version in that market, they do sell the 20hp version but not the 25hp version for some reason(you may be able to order the f25 version from the distributor). If you need a 25hp motor get the Yamaha Enduro 25 which is a lot older technology and uses pre-mixed fuel but it is reliable. Don't get the 25 BMHS (S / C) unless you need the safety lanyard. The f20 may be a better choice than the 25 BMHS (S/C) if you can't order the f25 and you can live with 20 hp. If you're planning on taking it into the ocean and the boat can handle it get the enduro 60 or 75 (also uses premix). For a larger panga get the 75, for a smaller one use the 60. If you only need 25 hp get a 25 enduro that wasn't used commercially.

Listen..!! This F20 Yamaha as more than 362 cc like was the previous ones till 2020. it's now got 462 cc and the displacement is worth to see , because now you can maximise your propeller to the max with a big pitch. and you have the same motor as the F25 witch is also 462 cc. Amazing stuff again as you can convert your F20 to a F25 by changing the computer Box and the spacer
@omieyouknowme3 жыл бұрын
Sorry the 20hp rating is at the prop at 5500rom, the tohatsu 20hp is almost 30lbs lighter. 20hp out of a detuned motor is kind of throwing money away. Rather get a motor maxed for displacement. The ECU for all these little motors is mitsubishi.
@JohnJohn-tf4cr3 жыл бұрын
@@omieyouknowme I would say that the volume * V=TT X r2 X h * push of the piston at 462cc is worth the money. If you do compare the other 20 hp at lower cubic engines witch explain the lower weight of the unit .* I do understand that *. Nevertheless, the power generating the output by compression, is a big help, when the capacity of the boat is in average + load again. I say that the pitch of the propeller this time is more respected with a 462 cc by constant energy content. * Piston stroke in feet = Propeller revolutions * at 5500 rpm by extrapolation. And by changing the ECU, which is controlling the amount & timing of fuel intake, Cannot be done without enlarging the air intake, for a proper conversion to achieve 25 hp. Don't even think enlarging the air intake by keeping the same ECU as it would overheat the pistons having to much oxygen.
@omieyouknowme3 жыл бұрын
@@JohnJohn-tf4cr I understand that there is no replacement for displacement, the yammie per site says is 432cc btw. I'll verify with service manual. As for prop size, yes you are swinging a slightly larger prop on yammie vs the tohatsu, but the motors are rated at shaft hp at 5500 rpm in the prop. I would love a comparison in the same boat by someone, see if the extra displacement and weight affects anything. Take the yammie vs lighter tohatsu and Suzuki which both weigh under 100lbs in bare short shaft trim.
@JohnJohn-tf4cr3 жыл бұрын
@@omieyouknowme Mmmmmmm....ya , The weight of the motor as to be consider, in this matter. Yammie's are heavier to carry for & on, that same Boat in a speed test. Ohhh ya ...Resistance is the name of that game. Lighter Boat = heavy motor = Lighter Boat Yamaha does have the power at 432 cc but any sort of resistance, is questionable. As is the water spreading or the shape of the boat, is never gonna give us an answer. I understand that 432cc as the power indeed, but i do have a SHAFT to consider. hahahahahhhahahahahahha...........!!! As for Connecting Rods on a motorcycle indeed. I do have my F20 / 2021 on a 16 1/2 aluminium boat. Having this 432cc is a good move,. Nevertheless if I want to consider using all of it, Ill have to change the ECU and air diameter intake. @@JohnJohn-tf4cr I ran the f25 when it first came out, with just me after the motor warmed up it lost almost 500rpm. Yamaha would not believe me, so I made you tube videos. Took the cowl off and had the extra 500rpm back. They eventually reflashed my ecu I'm curious if run the motor first thing in morning, then at mid day when it's warm, do you lose rpm as well?
