and where this sounds from ? do you specially select it or it's default bank?

Hi, great effects on it. Is maybe there also a reversed colour display for this machine available?
@AlbionPatterns3 жыл бұрын
There are some nice modern oled negative displays that are crisp and easy on the eyes on eBay for these units..
@ShallRemainUnknown2 жыл бұрын
No, there is not, unfortunately; the A4000 & A5000 use the higher-resolution and much less common 320x80 pixel display that some high-end Roland synths used (JD-990, XV-5080, JV-2080, XP-80, XP-60), and possibly a few digital multitrack recorder models, too. The much more common 240x64 pixel display used by many synths is the type that can easily be found in different colors, and inexpensively.

@AiynZahevSounds2 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure they come with the effects internal, no expansions.

Sami is it possible to process different sounds in different ways and return the separated sounds back into the daw? Or it does process only one sound at the time?
@AiynZahevSounds3 жыл бұрын
From memory, I think it can do 2 chains at a time, but you'd need to check the manual to be sure.

@@AiynZahevSounds my bad Sami i thought the audio was coming directly from daw > processed > sent back to daw. thanks for the answer

@Bobby Landry ah, okay, thanks for the info...so the A5000 with optical I/O extension is overkill just for external DAW FX
@ShallRemainUnknown2 жыл бұрын
@Bobby Landry Incorrect! You can set the A/D inputs as 2 separate monophonic inputs (if you wish) to be routed to your choice of any effect unit, thereby placing each input anywhere within your variable effects chain (obviously you have more options in an A5000 with 6 effects units versus 3 in the A4000). You can then route the effects units to your choice of outputs (again, if you have the optional output expander, you'll have more options here, but the stock A4/5k still has 4 analog outputs). Set this way, it's a 2-in/4-out effects processor.

Thanks for this demo. im considering to buy one for live use, but i have some questions. does it receive midi program change messages? i really need that for live performance. and also, does it come with a factory library with real instruments, like strings, flutes, trumpets and stuff like that?
@jonytube3 жыл бұрын
IIRC, it does receive PC - I think you have to set it first under the system menu, but it's a one time operation. No need to change it again after being powered down. The A4000 comes with IDE and SCSI interfaces allowing you to chuck a hard-drive on it, but as with old samplers, you have to load programs into memory first. Usually on the second hand market you won't find a unit with the original samples CD-ROM but you can easily load a couple usable sounds into it, save them to HDD/Floppy and you're set. Hope this helps. Cheers

Be wary of the encoders tho, these fail HARD. You can replace them and it's a really easy fix if you know how to solder but these encoders are hard to find, lots of supply shortages nowadays.

@@jonytube would anyone like the original samples CD? I have a new old stock A4000, never been opened.

Ohh lol , the jump effect I never used that , there was even a running gag on the old yahoo yamaha users group That being said , the effects in the a series are fantastic ..if yamaha should have paid more attention to the crappy encoders , secondhand proces would be much higher I still have my yammie for almost 20 years , it's now gathering dust becasue of the totally fucked up encoders

Such a shame isn't it. Besides the encoders I found the O.S in general just a headache to use.

@@AiynZahevSounds nothing a numpad on the front panel like the akais wouldn't solve. It would help a lot with some cumbersome menus. On the flipside, it's a great unit for sound design!

Hard to believe , the jump affect is rather gimmicky
