Deepmind is totally underrated. I currently own 8 analog synths , 1 DX7, and a Roland Integra 7. The Deepmind is probably the most versitle followed by the DX7. Great video BTW!

The Deepmind 12 was my re-entrance into synths since nearly 20 years. Bought for about € 550,- in near-mint condition. Compared to my last powerful synth, a Roland JP8000, a real gem. A better sound, a better UI and that for a remarkable less prize. The JP8000 was bought new and I've paid about DM 3.500,-. When I sold the JP8000 the best deal was to sell it for about DM 1.400,-. A big loss of money 🤨. I sold the DM12 about 1 year ago for € 500,- (in further near-mint condition). I guess a good deal for both 😉. The reason was the fan noise of the DM12. Very silent but the noise bothered me (Ok, compared to the fan noises of my former Thinkpads (or even MacBooks) the fan noise is extremely low). Nevertheless the Deepmind 12 was fun and a pretty good synthesiser.

Love these sounds some even sounded like sweet ol' 8 bit without the sore throat. Then it goes all 70/80s warpy. My analogs now, having had all my gear stolen 7 years ago. are volca keys, korg minilogue and the deepmind 6. For tiny fun a stylophone. These tones and even more the possibilities are so much fun. I love my digitals i cant lie. D50 (now d05?) Wavestation, SY33, XW-P1 some others. However the organically visceral sounds of good analog are truly superb. More often i feel digital is an attempt to create analog from a different direction. Thats valid none the less if you have access to genuine analog without resorting to bank robbery or dicey ponzi scemes and thanks to companies like Behringer we do. I say go for it. Crossing the ocean in a 10 footer? Hell yeah me lads (and lasses) Now smile and start paddlin'.
@getjervis5 жыл бұрын
Hahah yes a little 8but is good for you! Some tasty synths you have there, covering both sides.. I do so like the D50 and have been tempted by the boutique version.. Love my Wavestation SR.. Sorry to hear about the loss but as you point out, we are living in fine times for synthesizers!
@DaveBessell5 жыл бұрын
It's not clear from the video whether you got them to poly chain so extra voices on the keyboard overflowed into the Deepmind module? Or was it just a case of stacking the extra 12 voices?
@getjervis5 жыл бұрын
Polychain does what it says.. it chains polyphony together..therefore each unit remains the intact with one unit fully controlling the other. So you get all 24 notes and all parameters controlled by one synth and you will need to connect the audio output of any chained synth to bathe in the glory of their combined sound!
@shawnaebbeson78824 жыл бұрын
I just got the Deepmind-12 delivered today. I am very excited about it and it is a very deep synth, for sure. I was going to question how the Poly-Chain worked, but it looks like it was answered, and I appreciate it :) The Poly-Chain works the same way as it does on the Korg Minilogue XD synths. I also have the Minilogue XD and the Minilogue XD Module when when chained together, they are basically an 8-voice synth (each Minilogue is a 4-voice unit). The Minilogue XD is easier to program from the front panel than the DM-12, but the DM-12 is MUCH deeper of a synth in most categories :) I may look at the Deepmind-12 Desktop unit in the near future now :) Thank you for a great video.

I was wondering if as DeepMind12 experts now you could take some time to show us how to update the deep mind twelve not with a pc but the iOS editor . Which I have done one update with on an iPad Air .i live in a very mountainous rural area with horrible WiFi speeds so using a computer is totally out of the question here . No ground line either...But iOS lets me upload so I’m hoping to use the editor to update the DeepMind12 it worked that one time but now it just gets to ten % and just sits there. Any idea what’s up? My town is a tech vacuum .also some of the keys are cracking have your had this issue. Behringer never responds to anything on line or by phone . I also have a 2018 iPad Pro loaded-but no one covers this in depth ...Peace Christo 👽🐕🎶☮️
