These videos on the AG06 are really well done. The format, the duration, the side by side views. And really clear information delivered properly. Nice work !

The hiss was lower with the in-line pre-amp, I'm considering purchasing a AG06 however I have a 200 ohms microphone and so will use a pre-amp but even still I've heard random noise can occur but almost no one was able to give a clear answer Great videos covering many interfaces and mixers, it gave me some insight

Hi Jordan! I recently finded your channel and keep coming back :) To be honest, I dont hear lot of difference. Just a slight. I think the cloudlifter's noise added to the input noise and amped as well. Even if it is very low. If that little Yamaha can handle the gain beast, it can handle anything.
@kettnercreative4 жыл бұрын
Agree. The test showed an extremely minimal difference. Considering the price, there isn’t much benefit of the inline preamp.

Hi Jordan! This was very didactic and helpful! I have an AG03, not an 06, would you say for the purposes of this test, they are similar? Meaning, I can buy a sm7b and expect these same or similar results? Many thanks!

So I can't change efx and compression eq without connecting to computer, can I?
@michael-jackson-helsinki3 жыл бұрын
You can. You need to connect the AG06 to a computer to store your custom EQ and COMP settings INTO the AG06, but after that you can disconnect the AG06 from the computer and your custom EQ and COMP settings are still inside of the AG06.

Incredible Audio Interface / Mixer from Yamaha. Typical of Yamaha to produce top quality innovative products. Noise doesn't seem to be a problem at all. I am only concerned about the headphones amp supporting high impedance headphones like HD600 (300-Ohms).

@@kettnercreative Just got my AG06. Super easy, flawless setup on Windows 7. Headphones amp is amazingly powerful. I am comfortably listening to songs on my HD600 with the headphone volume control at 11 o'clock position. Super clean sound. Hats off to Yamaha!! Will be trying out all other features in the next few days. Thank you very much Kettner for reviewing this product and providing us detailed information.

Hey Kettner excellent video! I just picked up Yamaha Ag03 and the Rode Podmic. Really liking the setup but have to crank up the gain to make for decent levels. What's the difference from the peak indicator next to gain and peak indicator next to main levels? When peak lights up does thay indicate hitting 0db?

Hello Kettner Creative, It could be late to ask... but I am looking for a Microphone XLR, mixer, or interfaced equipment and I am extremely new to this type of thing can I have any advice on it? I am planning on getting Shure MV7 and AG03 Yamaha or Goxlr mini for singing through to my phone and desktop streaming from time to time is it a-okay set up or there is a better way for me. The problem with my current setup is: 1) there is a loud fan near me 2) my friend said my voice can't be heard from time to time 3) my mixer monitoring I could hear my own voice too loud but the viewer can't hear a thing. So I was thinking about upgrading to mid-tier because the current item I used is all budget level. Thank you if could see my message.

Even with a fathead preamp i do need to put the knob volume all the way up (more than 9) to reach the peak. Without preamp I can't even hear sound coming from the mic. Is that normal ?
@kettnercreative9 ай бұрын
That's not normal.

@@kettnercreative Found the solution. I tried using the exacts same volume and compare it with your video and figured the issue came from the preamp. Pushing the top left ''line button'' up fixed the issue. Apparently this reduce gain about 20 decibels so basically cancel the preamp gain. I put my experience there in case anybody have troubles setting up the mixer because there isn't that much content about it out there. Thanks again without your video I would maybe had way more troubles finding the fix

Bro these videos are a huge help... I have the Yamaha with a Rode PodMic... and really go back and forth whether or not to add a preamp... any suggestions for the PoDMic sir?
@kettnercreative4 жыл бұрын
It's very similar to the SM7B in terms of gain requirements. I think at the end of the day it comes down to how well you project your voice and how close you can keep the microphone to you. If you have an average voice and can keep the mic 4-6" away from your mouth, you should be okay without it. Are you getting the volume you need?
@ProperChaos4 жыл бұрын
Yes and no, I would like to not have to have it all the way up and have a little more to play with.... I’m really considering the Rodecaster, I was just holding off , maybe a new all in one is in the works out there?

My main use cases are livestreaming and recording via OBS. Which is a better choice: the AG06 or the MG10XU? Maybe you could do a video comparing them.
@kettnercreative4 жыл бұрын
We are doing a comparison soon, but the loopback feature of the AG06 makes single PC streaming possible while you would need a second PC to stream properly with the MG10XU.

I'm setting up my MG06X with the ShureSM7B exactly the same as this video but its just not working. I've followed these instructions exactly but it is still so unbelievably quiet, going no higher than -20 dB. What's going on? Edit: I purchased my SM7B with a Motu M2 interface. I spent about a month researching this purchase before making it and I was unanimously told that the Motu M2 would supply enough juice to give that SM7B's weak signal what it needs to be loud enough. Its not. The thing is so quiet no matter what I do, and the only ways I can fix it is by introducing so much gain that your ears begin to bleed from the sheer amount of noise. I have a friend who had a Yamaha MG06X lying around and he let me try it out to see if I could throw something together to just get this setup working properly. I've been dealing with this headache for about 7 months now. I don't know what to do :(

I read that the D-Pre preamp is activated if you are using XLR, if you connect using TRS/TS the preamp is not activated. Is this true?
@kettnercreative4 жыл бұрын
When I look at the wiring diagram, the XLR, 1/4", and 1/8" Headset input are all wired to the same preamp. The only difference is the impedance of each input.
