I purchased this DTXPRO sound edition and the kits are awesome. I love the assigned Tom rimshot percussive sounds as they train me to be more precise on hitting the centre of toms but always bring a smile to my face when I trigger one 👍😊

This Yamaha module sounds absolutely phenomenal!!!! You guys have out done yourselves again!!!! I’m so torn between this Yamaha module and td-27. If I go Yamaha I will have to buy new hihat setup, ride and 12” snare. The td-27 I could buy the digital pad upgrades down the line as I can afford them/find good deal on FB marketplace. These ATV kits are great looking kits for sure, not a fan of the modules. They sound great like EFNOTE modules, just not enough editing features, I love to edit my kits to death. I realize not everyone like to do that and I’m happy manufacturer’s have players covered

Will this module work with any pads? How much tweaking is required?

@@Dyerdrummer It will generally work with most pads, however, I have it on good authority that Roland Pads are too hot for it, even with the sensitivity down to 0, you'll peak out the gain with medium hits. That said, I have also seen demos of a drum with a mesh head and an external trigger working just fine.

I have the rhh 135 on my DTXTREME iis. I have never taken to it as the distance between open and closed is just too small to get a proper range of closed to open sounds. I'm surprised they're still using it and haven't cone up with something better. How does it work with the new line of modules?

You can use this with the DTX ProX module. But you can’t use ProX sounds with the Pro module.

Did you have to adjust the snare settings on the module to get the ghost notes triggered accurately? Or did the module and ATV snare work out of the box together like featured in this video?

You'll have to adjust EVERYTHING if you use aftermarket pads. However, I highly recommend you perform the adjustments on any pad (even the stock pads) so that the velocity, max/min levels, and gain are all set according to how you play. It's really worth it and not that complicated.

Nice! How did you make the pads work properly on the module? A few months ago I bought an ATV 13" pad and couldn't make it work properly, tried using the DT-50 trigger settings, adjusting rim/head gain balance... But I never got the rim to trigger properly, it needed to be hit hard in order to trigger. I recently updated the module and it got support for the new Yamaha mesh pads. Maybe that's what I needed to have done?

Nice kit , I have the Yamaha 502 module and the 700 but what I am looking for in a drum module is a close feel and sound to an acustic kit , even this new Yamaha DTX pro sounds machine gun , I still find that you get a better sound out of an electronic drumkit if I hook it up mídi to my computer and using BFD3 as the main sorce , if only there was a drum module that could sound like BFD3 drum software then certainly I would think on buying another module

BFD3 is indeed quite something... When inMusic bought BFD (they also own Alesis) I was curious if theyd start embedding BFD into some new Alesis flagship. That would be quite crazy. Not even superior drummer 3 sounds as good as BFD3.

Yes, need more acoustic sounds, like some rodes, brushes stuff. Gospel type of sounds. Worship massive sound drums. This humor type sounds just useless. I will hear drum sets, what’s I hear in my Garage Band or VST, They sounds like classic vintage, very warm and fat.. Great to see some more sounds.. Thank you

If I install this on my setup: What happens with the other pads and triggers I have on my kit beyond the standard ones that come with a PRO kit? I have 2 PROs in my setup with multiple added Yammy, aftermarket, and diy triggers. Are settings on that stuff tweaked with this package or is it just for the pads that come standard with the PRO sets? Can I install this on both my modules? Thanks!

Any cymbals you want as dual zone crashes, splashes and china’s will work with Yamaha modules. The hi Hat controller will need to be Yamaha though as it’s wired specifically for Yamaha modules. And the Ride (If you need all 3 zones) will need to be a Yamaha PCY cymbal too, as they achieve all 3 zones with one cable.

I use two e-kits when I teach. I grew up playing an acoustic. It's telling that the majority of live-performijg drummers use acoustic kits (edrum add-ons don't count). Why is this? For me, it's the limited dynamic ranges of cymbals and snare that prevents me from using e-kits live. I've tried it three times and it was never pleasant. Are e-kits STILL overpriced, glorified practice kits?

Hey Alexander, you could just turn around your headphone ;-D in the end it's up to individual taste if you pan a drumkit audience or drummer view, there is no right or wrong basically. When shooting drum videos from different camera angles, it is unfortunately not possible to keep visuals & audio panning coherent for all angles anyhow. Kind regards!

The video panning and camera angles do not concern me at all, sound is most important.
