The fjr is a very impressive bike. I took the bags off mine and just keep the trunk on the bike. I use it as my sport bike and my every day bike while my big heavy harley davidson ultra limited is used for those long rides and two up with my wife. The fjr is easier and less expensive and more reliable than the bmw 1250 so it should be an easy choice for you. Enjoy your bike.

I totally agree with other viewers and thank you for vocalising your enthusiasm and fun that motorcycling gives you. Please think about an advanced riding course, it doesn't spoil the fun and makes every ride a more satisfying experience. Brilliant bike BTW, I'm now looking for one, that's your fault!😄

Much appreciated 😆 I’ve looked into doing my advance not sure when to get it sorted, But definitely a great bike, I ended up selling this one, shame they didn’t bring out a newer model with a tft screen, but may eventually in the future get the last newer model

This is so much better to watch than a lot of other reviews. So many reviewers are too experienced and spoiled to show excitement like you do and it really helps get a sense of what its actually like to ride the bike! I'm hoping to buy a gen1 fjr as a stablemate to my Super Tenere. I think they would be perfect to own as a pair. I really want something with more of a road based nature and the fjr seems perfect. Wouldn't be as comfy or as efficient as the Tenere but for scenic Scottish roads in summer the FJR will be perfection

Much appreciated thank you, But totally agree, it’s a fantastic bike to ride, though I am tempted for the newer fjr but also keep the tiger1200

I bought a 2019 model last week with the electronic suspension. I love it - it does everything absolutely effortlessly and handles really well. I like that it is relatively low tech - I don't need a TFT screen.

I agree TFT not on my list. I wonder how they hold up for year round riding. Bike is the bedt

@@danielweatherford3243 - I currently live in Canada so we can only ride about 8 - 9 months of the year here due to excessive snow and/or -20C temperatures but when I lived in the UK I would ride all year around on a Yamaha RD400. The FJR is much better equipped for year round riding than the RD400 but like with all bikes they need to stay home when there is ice in the road

Gotta love the FJR. Have owned ours for 18 months and it is now getting the 50K service. It is sublime, so smooth and effortless, while still being quite quick when required. Have a review on my channel if you want to check it out. Enjoy your ride mate.

Great review, I also have a Tiger 1200 but its playing havoc with my lower back when standing due to it being top heavy. I've always loved the FJR1300, I've had 2 XJR1300's so know the engine and its silky smooth. How do you like this compared to the Triumph and how is it weight wise?
@SteveIt
@SteveIt Жыл бұрын
The weight difference you definitely notice, with the fjr I notice that its heavier going round corners, as when I first started riding it it felt like I was fighting it round corners, now I let the bike do what it wants, or gliding round corners etc something like that’s The tiger on the other hand is lighter on the front end but nimble in the low gear range you can really lean it, The tiger is a heavy bike on top, but after having it lowered it’s easier to move around but still heavy, in certain situations, Hard to choice to call, I like them both, but the tiger has the up right feel, so if I was to get a newer fjr I’ll probably raise the bars

I am thinking of getting one of these, did you stick to the gen 1 or decide to go newer with abs etc? Auto clutch seems a mixed bag to me, I'd love it for easy riding but not sure about slow control where clutch slipping and rear brake is used to achieve tight car park moves and u turns etc?
@SteveIt
@SteveIt Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment, and I still have the gen 1 at the moment, The auto clutch isn’t any different to be honest, you ride exactly the same but with the gears you can use your foot or push the button on the handle bar up or down etc, easy to ride, you probably lose a tiny amount of acceleration but yeah it’s not bad bike
