Straight-forwarded, well put together video showing exactly what needs to be done. Good job editing out the redundant steps.

The center screw deadset in the middle of the airbox is a pain to get to, but there's certainly one there. Also, this is the screw (if my eyes were correct) that also pins the air filter itself in place. SO, it is easy for the filter to slip out of its proper place as you're reinstalling the lid, so do it gingerly, and install this screw first. Thumbs up

Helpful, thanks. I'm changing my filter tonite, and I would have removed the tank completely and from the opposite direction (and would have to remove the fuel line). This vid this saves me some trouble.

Thanks for the video. Was trying to figure out my 2008 FZ6 and this was similar enough to do the job. Twenty five minutes was spot on.

SmoothbassmanStudios Victory Magnums look nice! Definitely different than an FZ1 though. I just got my FZ1; upgraded from a Ninja 500r. Loving it so far!

Hey, thanks for this man. I've got an 08 R6, and I'm wanting to do everything that I can on my own. I'm hoping that the set-up isn't different for some strange reason. I'd rather spend my time working on the filter than pay through the nose getting someone else to do it. Again, thanks a lot man!

I am going to change the filter, my question is,, That plug you disconnect before removing the air box lid, is that the one that gives me code 20 on my bike?

Hello brother. I really liked your video. I have also a Yamaha fazer 1000, 2010 model. I would like to ask for something if you can advise me. I’m having trouble with my head lights. It’s a bit higher than expected and I’m brining other drivers when I drive at night. Can you please advise me how to lower my lights? Or do you have any video that shows how to do it ?? Thank you in advance. Greetings from Cyprus.

If your new to bikes and have never ridden before you really need to be looking at a 600 instead of a liter bike. 1000's have way more power and a very thin line between in and out of control. Throttle control is very important on both bikes but you have more wiggle room on a 600. A 1000 will break the tires very easily and you will be on the pavement unless you know how to drift it. And since your new you probally don't know. Get a small bike to start out with and then move up.

There two differnces in the Fz1 and R1 except for the riding position. First the Fz has a different cam giving you more mid range torque. Since the FZ was really designed as a sport touring bike, mid range power is important for crusing. Its really weak on the low end. The R1 wins there. Additionally the gearbox has a taller 5th and sixth gear which gives you better fuel economy. Basically the FZ is more comfortable to ride, better fuel economy, and cheaper insurance.

How do you get the main front seat off?
@VishnuPrasad-qu6qc10 ай бұрын
Once you remove the rear seat, you’ll find a lever under it. Yank it to the side and the rider seat pops up

Yes, the FZ1 is faster from 0 to 100 then the R1. After 100 mph the R1 will catch and beat you.I have raced them so I know. But as smoothbase said you absolutely do not want to start out on a liter bike. All liter bikes are dangerous including the FZ1. If you don't have experience riding a sport bike there is a pretty big learning curve.

I applaud your site and appreciate your help - but- Please help:::::: Remove WHAT SCREWS for the airbox ?????? Can we please see them in a picture/video? Where are they located (the screws) and how did you get them off (what tools did you use)? What did you spray to clean the throttle body orifices? AND, ::::: When you connected the airflow sensor - could you please allow the viewers to see what you are doing and where the connection was made? Your music and the video presentation were wonderful but the content could use a little tweaking to understand. It’s composed for those who already know what they are doing and want it dramatized - yet your audience (like me) are trying to learn from you and we are confused. I’m an avid mechanic of multiple facets - but I’m learning from people like you. Can you be a little more specific?
