Yo mine makes a static noise every minute and 20 seconds.. i thought it was my monitors but i disconnected them and used some headphones and the same sound came through them as well.. is mine messed up.? I think it might be wated damaged would that make it like that??

this is one of the most helpful videos I've watched.... I did a live stream concert a few weeks back and the sound kept dipping and going very quiet during it with the set up I was using. I've bought this mixer in the hopes I can have a another go at it but I had no idea what to do with all the knobs and buttons so this is pretty darn incredible and useful to a novice.

Thank you for this helpful clip. I have the same console for three years now. I hooked up my powered Bose S1 Pro speakers to the console using the cables. It was working fine for quite a while. However, recently the speakers produced some noticeable buzzing sound when I powered on the console and the speakers. Why would that be? Is the console defective? Hey, Jordan! Thanks so much for making this video series. My brother and I are currently playing gigs as an acoustic duo, and we have this exact mixer. I have a question regarding this mixer: We run this mixer into a Bose L1 Model 1 system, and we've primarily played smaller venues thus far. Typically, I find that I have to drop the master output knob a decent amount below unity in order to be at an acceptable volume for the spaces that we're playing in. My question is: I notice when I move the master output knob up or down, that movement is reflected in the meter. So, because this board lacks "solo" or "PFL" buttons for each channel for setting gain on each channel, I'm wondering if the best approach to setting the gain properly for each channel would be to first turn the Bose speakers off, then set the master output knob to unity, and then individually go through each channel we use and set the gain for each input source to where the meter reads around 0 for the loudest sections, and once that's good then turn the Bose system on and adjust the master output to an appropriate volume for the venue? My thinking is that with the master output knob at unity, I'll get the most accurate meter reading for each channel when setting the gain for those inputs. Then, once the gain is set for each channel to the appropriate level (around 0 on the meter for loudest sections) I can turn the Bose system on, and just adjust the master output knob up or down for an overall volume level that's appropriate for the venue we're playing at? Would you agree that this would be the best approach for this setup? Thanks so much for your help!

@@tonybrooks9034 Monitors are speakers, which count as an output from the audio mixer. It always gets tricky to explain because the output of the mixer goes to the input of the speaker.

You see with my blue yeti there is an input that the camera has as well that looks exactly the round input for old wired headphones and I connected one end to the camera and the other to the mic, how is it done in this case please ?

I have two queries when I go LIVE streaming of MUSIC through OBS 1) I have a media source from OBS which I need to PLAY for my online audience to hear - so do I need to PRESS the STERO button of channel 9 & 10 along with USB button ? 2) If if I'm playing the track from another laptop input into MGXU then again do I need to PRESS the USB and STERO button on Channel 9&10 ?

Unfortunately you cannot use the usb output for a mix minus because the computer needs to receive info from the aux/fx send. There is no way to route this to the USB output of this mixer.

@@kettnercreative I saw Jordan has done a video for MG10XU + Shure SM7B. I'm interested in using them and the Zoom H6 for podcast setup (Skype interview) including mix minus feature. The reason is both MG20XU and H6 have gain settings and "FX send" has "+4Dbu, there are various places to adjust the gain until the voice is recorded into H6. How to make sure the person on the other side of Skype hear a clear voice and H6 record with high quality?

@@salesforceway The single most important thing that you can do to make sure the quality/level is setup correctly is to follow the instructions for gain setup. 99% of people that have "quality" issues, actually have issues with their gain and are trying to compensate for it in weird ways. Or they are completely overthinking compression and eq. Less is more.

How would you rig 4 speakers to 1 stereo output from a mixer? so 2 on the left channel 2 on the right. Would you use an XLR splitter or another device that managers sending audio to the speaker system(s)? what about 2 different outputs? for example 2 XLR monitors & a 2.1 stereo system that uses 3.5mm jack?

Thanks for the video. I'm a mobile DJ and I connect my controller to this mixer. I have a few questions. 1. I've never used the USB connection. What type of input would you have coming into USB? 2. I'm assuming I need to install drivers and an application to record? 3. What software is needed on the laptop to provide output through the USB? 4. Why would you not pad the mic input? I feel like that helps keep my gains low. My wireless mic is pretty hot, so I don't turn the boost there, but the wired mic can use the pad feature. Thanks in advance.

My band has a bass cab that will be mic'd, a guitar that will be mic'd, and another guitar modeler with L/R outputs (XLR's or 1/4"). Additionally we will have 4 vocal mics. Are there enough inputs to connect the the modeler's left and right outputs?

Sounds like you need the MG12XU. 6 XLR Inputs for 4 vocals, bass, guitar, and plenty of line inputs for your guitar modeler. You may want to consider the MG16XU just in case you also want a Kick/Snare in the future.
